An off-the-wall comedy set around the dinner table. What at first glance seems like an awkward 'meet the parents' situation for Dade Klublershturf quickly turns into a game of cat and mouse between Nazis, his boy genius younger brother, Ollie, and a time machine (disguised as an Atari joy stick) the Nazis are trying to capture from him.

The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.

"Ollie Klublershturf vs. the Nazis" is an American 11-minute short film from 6 years ago. And I am shocked to see such a lauded screen writer like Damon Lindelof be in charge here because the script turned this into a completely amateurish mess. The director is not too well-known and shouldn't be. Same goes for the lead actor, who is almost the only unknown cast member next tom some really big stars (before they were famous). So great material to work with here, but random fart noise without any connection to the story makes this one a pathetic outcome. I do not recommend checking it out at all. This could have been a lot better easily. Story is stupid as well.

Ollie Klublersturf vs. the Nazis is a name that is intriguing, so I felt I had to check this short out. And, I am glad I did. It is a good short comedy, with a good setup and story. Young genius Ollie must thwart the attempt by German infiltrators to steal his newly built time machine and killing Ollie's entire family that has just sat down to eat. Not very easy, but with a time machine Ollie gets many attempts and can refine his methods. Zach Mills that plays Ollie shows a good talent for comedy, his Ollie is the gem of this little production. His banter with Daniela is both well written and well delivered. In addition to that, this short has an impressive cast, most notably with George Segal, Rachel Nichols and Chris Hemsworth. Unfortunately either writer Lindelof or director Bright got the idea to put in a big fart sound each time the time machine is activated, giving the entire, otherwise quite good production, a clear juvenile stamp. That sound pretty much cancels out the effort of Mills and the effects of the good story. With another sound effect the entire short would have been so much better.6/10 (Would easily have been a 7 or maybe even an 8 without the fart sound)
