OK, watch this movie more than twenty times and enjoy each time I watch it. But I notice the bag lady shown in three different area of N.O. during the shooting of the film. What is her part? Every time they show her I get loss. Do any one know what is it that she suppose to be or do? OK, watch this movie more than twenty times and enjoy each time I watch it. During the 1980s and early 1990s, Kathleen Turner was one of Hollywood's top A-list actresses. She appeared in a series of hit movies and was much in demand as a leading lady. She made a few duds, but her films had a high batting average, plus she was very beautiful and could really act. She had, and still has, true star quality.Unfortunately, "Undercover Blues", released in 1993, is a very typical spy thriller-comedy with nothing new to offer. Jane and Jeff Blue (Turner and Dennis Quaid) are soon-to-be retired spies who do the hackneyed "one last assignment" thing, along with their baby daughter. They do battle with an evil Czech agent (Fiona Shaw) and of course come out victorious after many dangerous situations. There's nothing new in "Undercover Blues" that I could identify. Different actors had done the same thing in dozens of previous movies. The main villain isn't really that interesting, and a dumb criminal (played by Stanley Tucci) has some funny scenes but that's it. The whole thing has a lackluster "paint-by-the-numbers" feel to it. The shining star in the movie is of course Turner, who steals every scene in which she appears. Dennis Quaid is okay, but almost any actor with his qualifications could have taken his place. After the mid-1990s, Turner's career took an abrupt downturn due to illness. Her days as a leading lady are over, but she does pop up from time to time in films and on television. "Undercover Blues" is silly and unremarkable, but it does showcase Turner in one of her last roles during her star period. It's worth a look for her appearance alone.

if there is ever movie that is underrated and unappreciated,it's this one.basically,it's about a retired husband and wife spy team, who take a vacation in New Orleans with their baby girl.what should be a relaxing time,is anything but.Jane(Kathleen Turner)and Jeff(Denis Quaid)soon find themselves the target of muggers, and being harassed by the local police.what's worse is their boss enters the picture and pleads with them to do one more job for the FBI.of Jane and Jeff just want time to relax and have time to themselves.Stanley Tuuci is hysterical as a hapless, incompetent mugger who tussles with both Jane and Jeff and=d always ends up on the losing end.the dialogue is simply brilliant in this movie.the banter between Jane and Jeff when they should be in danger(but never are)is priceless.no matter what happens, both never lose their cool, and never miss a beat.they are simply unflappable.of course the fact that they never takes themselves seriously make things even funnier.in fact, the movie does not take itself seriously at all which is its appeal.despite its light hearted approach to things, this movie succeeds on all levels.credit that to the performances of Turner,Quaid,Tucci, and the rest of the supporting cast.there's no way i could give "Undercover Blues" any less than 10/10

Jeff and Jane Blue (Dennis Quaid, Kathleen Turner) are retired spies vacationing in New Orleans. Jane just had a baby girl and they want to raise her in a normal environment. However they're called in to a case they can't resist and get involved with terrorists and Muerte (Stanley Tucci) who's out to kill them.Light, breezy and just LOTS of fun. It's a combination mystery/thriller and comedy with the accent on comedy. Quaid and Turner turn up the charisma and smile nonstop through this movie even when they're fighting the villains. They work very well together and effortlessly throw off some very funny one liners with ease. The movie almost never takes itself seriously which is precisely why it works so well. Also it was shot in New Orleans which adds color to the story. The script is also great--as I said before it has VERY funny one liners and also throws in the mystery occasionally. The only misstep is Fiona Shaw as the villain Novocek--she overacts horribly and is not even remotely funny. Also I could have lived without seeing her and Turner mud wrestling. But those are minor points here. This came out in 1993 and was dumped by the studio. The critics savaged it (I still can't figure out why) and it quickly faded away. I was one of the few people to actually see it in a theatre and loved it. It still holds up over 10 years later. Another great movie awaiting rediscovery.
