The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.

It's hard to see any effort in the film. There's no comedy to speak of, no real drama and, worst of all.

I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.

One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.

I do not know where to begin with this extremely horrible movie. I as a Romanian believe that most of North America knows Romania as a country of vampires, and all they heard of is Transylvania. If an American hears a Romania speaking (and I know this from experience), they ask them, are you speaking Polish, Russian? No, we are speaking Romanian, a mixture of Dacian and the Latin language. So it offends me highly that they made all Romanians on the streets yelling like idiots with a Russian accent (not to say that they actually should be speaking Romanian, because not many Romanians know English, especially in Transylvania. You used names completely non-Romanian, such as Goran, 100% Yugoslav. Mme. Varcolac acts extremely retarded, yelling insanely- this does not represent a regular Romanian human being. Ct, Dracula, as you name it, was actually Vlad Tepes, or Vlad III, an important Romanian ruler. This film is as well an embarrassment to my country. It is junk, and I sincerely HATE it when we are called vampires. This film is useless, 1 star, I would give it less if possible.

Well as a werewolf fan (almost maniac) i have to say i wasn't expecting much from this movie. I wanted a light watch, with a simple story, werewolves and a good laugh, I think I got everything i desired. Yes, the actors aren't top notch, yes the story is cliché, but it's still a fun watch. The werewolf costumes aren't THAT bad, and, well as a werewolf fan i have to admit i envy the guy who got to be a werewolf from birthright ^_^ And the cute main actress is quite aluring both as a "invisible" girl at school and as the hootie at the end. In my opinion u should not cross out this movie just because it's not top notch, if you like werewolves, a good laugh, i think you'll be satisfied.

So I just finished watching "The Boy Who Cried Werewolf", a movie on Nickelodeon. It's about a family in California who is surprised to find out that an Uncle has died and left them a castle in Romania. This is especially exciting to the son, who is obsessed with monsters. The movie takes place mostly on the family's trip to Romania, where they travel to presumably to sell the castle. Upon arrival they meet an interesting cast of characters, including a creepy castle caretaker and an enthusiastic real estate agent who makes cookies with her face on them. Well, the kids soon discover some secrets in the castle, involving the family history. You can probably guess what happens next, you'll have to watch the movie. This movie MIGHT be a little bit scary for very young kids, considering there are monsters involved, with very well done special effects. This is top notch made for TV movie. It's exciting, funny, and well written. All the acting is great, especially the kids and Madame V. I would say it is better than most Disney Channel Originals (which I love, usually).I hope to see more movies from Nickelodeon- this one shows they definitely have some real acting talent on the network. Victoria Justice especially, super talented. Congrats to everyone involved with this movie!

A family inherits a Romanian mansion and discovers the family's secret When the Sands family inherits a Romanian mansion, they travel to the old country with the intention to sell the spooky property. The caretaker Madame V (Brooke Shields) resembles Frau Blücher from Young Frankenstein, down to an animal sound whenever her name is spoken (a wolf, in this case). Jordan and her brother, Hunter, come along to enjoy the sites, but (in another Young Frankenstein nod) discover the hidden lab. Jordan comes into contact with the blood of a werewolf when she steps on a broken vile and becomes a werewolf. The father becomes interested in a local real estate agent, Paulina, who is offering to sell the property for the family. Paulina seems to return that interest; however we soon learn that she has her own reasons for wanting to gain control of the mansion. Hunter turns to Madam V who informs him that his family has been the protectors of the town for centuries and werewolves are good things, but there is a formula to cure Jordan's condition. Some people are bloodline werewolves, while others are not. Without a bloodline werewolf, the vampires will rise up and the world will suffer. When Paulina turns out to be the vampire in charge, things begin to get interesting and lead to the Sands family being chained up. Hunter surprises everyone when he suddenly turns into a bloodline werewolf, breaks his chains and a battle begins. The vampires loose and Paulina seems to have been destroyed. The family keeps the mansion, inherits a large amount of money, Jordan is cured, and Madam V has a home and a job for life. Returning to America the family returns to "normal" life and the father takes them, and a date to the movies. As they leave a moving van is parked across the street and it is revealed that Paulina is moving in to continue her efforts to establish the vampire realm. There is nothing in the movie that hasn't been seen before, but the treatment is fun and the acting good. OK, it is not Shakespeare, but come on folks; it is a werewolf Vs. vampire movie for kids. Turn off the old think melon and enjoy a bit of silly entertainment.
