Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.

Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.

A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.

I was a sci-fi geek when I was a kid. In the late 60s, early 70s, I'd be glued to the TV on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, watching the multiple sci-fi and horror movies presented then. And I always had a soft spot for those giant spider movies, like Tarantula (1955) and The Spider (1958).This is what drew me to Spiders spontaneously, as I was browsing the Hoopla catalog and came across it. Big mistake! The dialogue is inane and the various situations that the characters get into are ludicrous, almost painful to watch. The acting is wooden, as virtually none of the actors do a passable job. The spider CGI is hit or miss (mostly miss), as is the FX. It's almost as if the filmmakers thought, "We've got this neeto keeno CGI equipment, let's build a movie around it", with plot, dialogue and characters being a fleeting afterthought. Do yourself a favor, skip it!!!

An abandoned Soviet space station is ripped apart by asteroids causing one of the modules to spear itself through a Manhattan street and split open in a subway tunnel. The New York City Transit Authority takes charge of the investigation of the crash after no other authority found anything of interest. Well guess what? Tarantula sized spiders are found and just one bite becomes deadly. The victims become a home to lay eggs in.Citizens are told there is a deadly virus contaminating the area; thus giving the military reason to establish martial law. A Russian scientist is wanting the queen spider to use the material it spins for a secret weapon. The CGI is really not all that bad; except the queen spider keeps changing size. The spiders actually look pretty neat and are what the budget probably went for; they upstage the lead actors making them look like they were doing just another school play. Now there is some creature violence and disturbing images that should make a few viewers happy.Players include: Christa Campbell, Patrick Muldoon, Sydney Sweeney, William Hope and Nikolai Sotirov.

0.01/10I'm a big fan of the first Spiders film, it was cheesy, fun and very entertaining and when I heard about this remake, I was like "Spiders got a remake, I wasn't expecting that," so I watch this movie, I thought it'll be fun, but man this movie p***ed me off, this movie is hand downs the worst remake ever made, this movie has no characters, none of the characters have personality, or anything that I found interesting about these characters. The whole movie was boring all the way, it was making me fall asleep. The spiders in this movie, don't look like spiders, they look like over-sized ticks, the CGI was really awful in this movie, speaking of CGI, this movie is filled with very bad CGI, like for example there's a scene when some people jump through a window, and they use CGI for the broken glass pieces. This movie is taken way too seriously, it tries way too hard, but then it fails. The dialouge is awful, the effects are awful, and the direction for this movie was horrendous, they take PG-13 rating way too seriously, so yeah this movie is an earth sized piece of s***t, don't see this movie, go see Spiders (2000), stay far away from this remake.

First, it's dumb, because of everything. The mom and the daughter are the screaming idiots in the movie. The dad is the invincible hero. The general is the arrogant plot-device. The spiders aren't even actual spiders, they're some ancient revived monster thing. The soldiers are stupid, doing nothing with guns and torpedoes.Second, it's bland. For a stupid movie like this, the nothing is bad in quality. The plot wasn't bad, the script wasn't too awful, the production wasn't terrible, the effects were quite good actually; the thing is, everything are on a normal scale nothing gets me excited. It was boring because all are generic and so bland. So that's my second complaint. The thing I wanted to compliment on is the effects. DANG! They are the real gem in an ocean. In a long time a stupid, low budget thing would even have ANYTHING AT ALL outstanding, but this one, the effects are. Kudos to all who worked for such little money and still nails the effects right.Overall, it's a dumb movie, but if you have absolutely nothing to do and you want to see some good effects in a pool of stupid crappy movies, see this one.
