Why so much hype?

Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.

There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes

One of the most extraordinary films you will see this year. Take that as you want.

This was a great movie: it offers an introspective trip in the feelings of men (male gender). The result is really great and never boring. The characters are great and actors perform very well. If you want to think a little, and in particular if you are a woman, you'll be glad to discover the sensitive side of many contemporary men. French men are similar to Italian men and this movie helps us understand that everywhere in the world (maybe in the old world in particular?) there is a wide range of different kinds of sensitive men who do not want to act like "macho" puppets. Moreover, this movie is not only for movie fanatics: you do not have to concentrate on every word otherwise you lose the depth of the story plot. My wife and I liked the show and simply had good time watching the DVD. Enjoy!

Prototype of the bad films, french can offer this days. The subject about the middle life crisis of urban executives is not only, very "Paris" oriented but also very poorly filmed. Cinematography and editing have no feeling, either of pictures or rhythm. The final product is not even close to the level of an average American TV-movie. Supposed take place in 2003, the film looks like it was made in the eighties. The story take months to start and then years to stop. Characters are very immature and so fr away from the real people they're supposed impersonating. The film is only saved by his lead cast. Bernard Campan is great, again, in an unexpected part. Darmon, Lavoine and Darroussin are, perfect, like always. Too bad, the director didn't take advantage of their work. Even with a weak script like that, Lelouch would have done a great job. It's a shame for french young cinematographers who can't get their projects done. Is this the only kind of films France has to offer nowadays ?

This is a story of 4 men--who meet on a regular basis, share a friendship that has seen good times and bad. It is a refreshing tale about french men (and their women).I enjoyed this film thoroughly because it gave me an insight into the heart of men--their emotions, reactions, foibles, games...and also how they committed to support each other and in one case, challenge one of the guys to forgive his "wayward" wife.I did not want the movie to end when it did as I wanted to see more of their interaction. The actors were well-chosen,they seemed to share a friendship on a personal basis as well. Good story, good acting...

This is an excellent character-driven movie. A fantastic effort by rookie director Marc Esposito. The movie is about the complex relationships between men and women. If you liked the "taste of others" (le gout des autres) you will like this movie. Guaranteed. The characters are easy to get drawn to. At the end, we are left wanting more. A sequel, please Marc ;) Good movie, great acting, good plot. 8/10
