Against a backdrop of global catastrophe, the 6-hour paleontology-based documentary miniseries "Animal Armageddon" brings to life an unprecedented vision of ancient Earth. From the very beginning, the course of evolution has been dramatically altered by catastrophe. Numerous mass extinction events have devastated the Animal Kingdom. Each time disaster has struck, nature has shown remarkable resiliency. Animals have rebounded with with amazing biological innovation and vast increases in diversity. Humans have always had a stake in this. From tiny flatworms to the first amphibians, our own DNA had to survive for us to evolve into what we are now: the first species that can trigger its own extinction.

In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.

A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.

The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.

This series is based on the big 5 mass extinctions, a smaller one 74,000 years ago, and a future one. The 1st one, "Death Rays" took place in the Ordovician 450 million years ago caused by a gamma ray burst. The 2nd one, "Hell on Earth", took place in the Devonian Period 377 million years ago, which was caused by a super plume volcanic eruption. The 3rd and 4th episodes "Doomsday" and "Panic in the Sky" are about the K-T Extinction, or the death of the dinosaurs by a massive asteroid 6-miles wide. The 5th one "The Great Dying" is about the Permian by a massive volcanic eruption in Siberia 250 million years ago and was the worst one yet. The 6th one during the Triassic Period "Strangled" 200 million years ago was also caused by a massive volcanic province like the Permian one. The 7th one "Fire and Ice" took place 74,000 years ago during the Pleistocene epoch and was caused by a Supervolcano Toba in Sumatra, Indonesia and killed the giant mammals of SE Asia. The last one the 8th episode "The Next Extinction" is about an asteroid hitting New York City. That was the episode guide, I hope this review helped you?

This is by far one of the most epic series ever made about dinosaurs.Being a fan of dinosaurs,I know a lot about them. This series tells about the great extinctions in earths history, and a possible future one.In the series, episode one is the first mass extinction,in the Silurian. The second takes place in the Devonian. Episode 3 and four cover the most famous extinction, the dinosaur extinction in the late Cretacous period. The 5th takes place in the Permian period, which was the worst of all.the 6th takes place in the Triassic.the 7th is the last real one, taking place about 100,000 years ago,I believe. And episode 8 is a possible future one,if a meteor crashed on earth in the present time. The dinosaurs look great, and almost all facts are correct. It is (in my opinion)The Third best Dino series, after Walking with, and Prehistoric park.I would recommend this who enjoy dinosaurs, and liked Walking with dinosaurs.
