Kidnapped (2008)
In this thrilling tale by Robert Louis Stevenson, Scotland has lost its beloved Prince Charlie for the brutish British King George 2nd, dividing the country in two. David Balfour, an orphaned Scotsman, has come to meet his uncle, Ebeneezer Balfour, in the hopes of finding a new home, but finds himself kidnapped and cast out to sea by his greedy uncle who wants to keep David's inheritance. Suddenly a shipwreck brings a newcomer aboard who just may be David's ticket to freedom: Alan Breck, a highlander who is skilled at risky escapes. While a loyal friendship is born, David searches for his true place and hopes to regain his homeland and his rightful patrimony.

I'll tell you why so serious
Excellent but underrated film
This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.
The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.
