I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.

Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.

The Pink Panther buys a talking weight machine and takes it to where ever he goes, trying to take its advice at sudden wealth and luck. But, he seems to get more bad luck than good, and he keeps on spending too much of his money in keeping the machine talk by inserting coin after coin into the slot. The Pink Panther cartoons are known for its absence of dialog, but this one has a talking weight machine and a couple of talking bystanders, so, this short was unconventional. For me, the dialog distracts from the uniqueness of the Pink Panther and actually takes away the comedy, which I thought was lacking in this short. Not much to laugh at here, though, you might utter a chuckle here and there on a few occasions.Overall, not a very exciting cartoon - very average.Grade C-

The Pink Panther is always fun to watch, he is a very likable character and even his weakest cartoons are better than a lot of what we have today for animation. An Ounce of Pink is decent, but I have seen better from The Pink Panther. Of course there is a lot that works. Pinky is still a cool and easy-to-like character, and the machine is very funny as is its dialogue. The animation is simple but quite elegant in that regard and not simplistic, there is enough detail in the backgrounds and the colour have a sense of life. The music is still deliciously catchy, the theme tune is iconic and no matter how many times you never hear it it never annoys. The voice acting for the machine is stellar, while the story is crisply paced and our attention never wanders. An Ounce of Pink is not without its faults however, the ending is rather underwhelming, some of the gags while most are funny are maybe too mean-spirited and the canned laughter track is completely unnecessary and distracting(if it had been left out, I would have given An Ounce of Pink a point higher). To conclude, not quintessential Pink Panther but far from bad either. 7/10 Bethany Cox

"You weigh 140 pounds, are very gullible and spend your money foolishly," says an insightful talking weight machine to the Pink Panther. Well, at least we found out how much our hero weighs, not that we care. This is a cool machine. It keeps talking to the Panther, finally talking it into buying "him" and taking him home, which he does. This machine is amazing, just like having a roommate except he can also tell you the future. or the weather, or the latest baseball scores. However, he's a bit annoying to the Panther.Overall, this was so-so at best. The machine was humorous. I enjoyed listening to him, even with his horrible Brooklyn accent BUT the cartoon had a very weak ending and it had a laugh track, which is totally unnecessary. I have yet to see a good PP cartoon that included the canned laughter.

Pinky is walking down the street minding his own business when his attention is distracted by a smooth-talking weight machine. Falling for its hustle he wastes many quarters listening to the machine talk jibber-jabber. Although he already hates it he is convinced to take it home. But the machine keeps on jiving and Pinky is desperate to get rid of it, especially after all the cruel tricks it plays on him. It's a pretty funny cartoon if a bit too reliant on mean-spirited humor. I mean I totally love the Pink Panther and it's not so much fun to see him get roughed up. Escpecially by a set of talking scales. It gets what it deserves in the end though.
