Excellent, Without a doubt!!
At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.
There is definitely an excellent idea hidden in the background of the film. Unfortunately, it's difficult to find it.
***SPOILERS*** ***SPOILERS*** Very well done super 8 film filmed around Burbank and surrounding areas, such as the old L.A zoo in Griffith Park and the beaches of Malibu, where Dr. Agor (Burton) met his drowning death at the hands of his half man-half animal creations. Tim made great use of the bear and lion cages at the old L.A zoo to house his "experiments". The cast consisted of friends and classmates.
