if their story seems completely bonkers, almost like a feverish work of fiction, you ain't heard nothing yet.

This is an animated movie that often gets overlooked and forgotten but should be remembered as a modern comedy classic. What is most overlooked, and surprising is the depth and narrative heft of the film. The Spongebob Movie is often hilarious, gleefully silly, and surprisingly deep. It may never get the accreditation it deserves, but the Spongebob Movie is a film that should be re-evaluated, and maybe it would gain recognition as a under looked animated gem.The humor in the Spongebob Movie maybe directed at children, but it would take a joyless person who takes life way too seriously not to find the film funny. The jokes are inventive and come early and often. The film is a perfect manifestation of the TV show in filmic form, without feeling like a bloated episode. It's also great, because in an age when animated TV Shows have begun to cater more to stoners than children, including the latter, this movie still has an appeal for everybody. The film is gleefully silly, which only makes the film that much funnier. Admittedly there are a few moments when the film oversteps the threshold of what is funny, and what is over-the-top, but for the most part the film maintains a fun tone. One of the single greatest strengths of is the villain, Dennis, who's one of the funniest villains of all time. The sheer stupidity of some characters, matched with the deadpan seriousness of Dennis makes every scene he's in, even more hilarious.Above the humor, The Spongebob Movie is also surprisingly deep, in both character development and the film's message. While viewers may not think about these things while watching Spongebob, the film has a great message about growing up, and how the world can forget to be silly every once and awhile. The film is actually a really great portrait of today's society, and how everybody feels the need to grow up so fast instead of embracing their inner child. This is a movie that can get overlooked by adults, because it's silly and childish, but as a reflection of the society, the film is brilliant. The film is funny, and is a great film to sit back and watch with the family. For the best viewing experience one should embrace their inner child, which isn't as bad as some would try to make it sound. In the end The Spongebob Movie should be considered a comedy classic, as it's exponentially funnier than some of the best comedies today.

In this fantastic movie, sponge bob and Patrick both start out as immature goofballs looking to become adults. In order for them to become adults they must complete a quest or a challenge of returning king Neptunes crown from the most dangerous place known to bikini bottom. SpongeBob and Patrick Tavel through thick and thin to finally return Neptunes beloved crown after risking their own lives in a popular ocean antique shop. I rate this great film a solid 10 stars due to it's intriguing plot and hopeful turn of events for the couple. It's amazing to watch as these two sea creatures are able to make the leap from boy to man. It's almost as if you were in the movie with them fighting throw the obstacles they faced. Overall this movie will have you on the very edge of your seat screaming in triumph for these two underdogs, 10 stars!

The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie is a fantastic movie with a really well developed storyline and an outstanding voice cast. It's a very fun film from start to finish that the entire family can easily enjoy, I grew up watching this movie and seeing it today serves as huge nostalgia, it still holds up and it is definitely very pleasing for fans of the television series. The only thing that I noticed while watching this movie today is that there are several plot holes, obviously this movie is aimed at children and they wouldn't take any notice, but for grown ups they can be ridiculously obvious, the most obvious one being that it makes no sense that Plankton would give them the actual location of King Neptune's crown, if he wanted to rule Bikini Bottom then there is no logic to why he would put SpongeBob and Patrick on the right track, also the characters nearly die after being exposed to sunlight for just a few seconds, but then they're running around outside on a sunny day without hesitation, this kind of stuff certainly had me bewildered, but it is only a cartoon at the end of the day. The characters are fantastic, I grew up watching SpongeBob, Patrick, Mr Krabs, Squidward, Plankton, among many others and they have a very special place in my heart, and here they are supported by a star studded cast that all seemed very interested in their roles, Jeffrey Tambor, Scarlett Johansson, Alec Baldwin and David Hasselhoff, appearing as himself in the only live action role, are all fantastic and it never came across in their performances that they were only doing it for the paycheck. Very funny for all ages, filled with great musical numbers and charming characters, I would recommend the SpongeBob SquarePants Movie to anyone looking for a good family film. SpongeBob and his best pal Patrick embark on a quest to clear the name of Mr. Krabs, who has been framed for stealing the crown of King Neptune.

SpongeBob in a movie, this is a true study of marine life from the perspective of a French narrator and a load of pirates. Well OK no it isn't but the SpongeBob SqaurePants movie is a great little creation at the bottom of the sea, are the jokes on point?, Well not all of them and is the story greatly fun?, Not always but even so I enjoyed myself here, not the kind of downright crying with laughter enjoyment but there is some stupid stuff in here to make you giggle. We see the little yellow sponge go on an adventure to find a crown with his best mate Patrick the starfish and all well as you might expect does not go to plan. The story plays out a little rushed and with that said the movie is only 88 minutes long, but even if the story is rushed the running time seems just fine. I think the movie could have tried to stretch itself too much and ended up too bloated but by the end you feel happy enough that you have seen an OK movie (well I did anyway).Although I will credit Tom Kenny(SpongeBob) and Bill Fagerbakke(Patrick) for creating unique voices, they are some of the most annoying voices ever after too long on the screen. The screeching and shouting that these two give off is enough to kill your eardrums, the jokes don't always play on loud screams but sometimes they actually do! Now I this movie is a nice go along on a journey kind of film, a genuine road trip from two genuine animated friends and also a load of baddies thrown in too, good fun indeed. I think the animated TV show maybe benefits slightly more from this brand of humour so it can be made more compact, but nevertheless the movie is still fitted in nicely and well timed throughout.Stephen Hillenburg directs well and to be honest I would say 80% of what is funny in this is down to him, he not only works well within the script but also seems to work the right movements from the characters to make it fast but not so fast you miss it. The writing is a little sloppy, again it works well in the show but the film can feel like a step too far at times, but does finish up nicely. I wasn't too keen on the more childish elements that can be seen throughout, it is by no means constant but does come in bits and pieces and really made the film look too much geared toward children. On that last point, the recommendations. Sure kids are going to maybe like this, even have a blast and if they are fans of the show, then let them watch this now. For other older fans of the show then sure this is good fun and contains laughs everywhere dotted around just as randomly as creatures are on sea floor itself. I did think that the movie doesn't show the characters that are in the TV show enough in the movie but by the end you don't really care, a fun plot with a fun end.Overall an animation that is by no means bad, but by no means incredible, a kind of good mix of alright and pretty good. Watch it with a slight smile on your face and never ever take it seriously or you will want to destroy this, just be silly and if you can't then, try and get into silly mode because this is one strange ride.
