It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional
At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
if their story seems completely bonkers, almost like a feverish work of fiction, you ain't heard nothing yet.
A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.
Jayasurya excels as the lead character of the ambitious young lad who gets embroiled in a money-laundering business on pigs & their slaughter. What could've been documented as the grave state of the slaughterhouses and how it suppresses activists without mercy has been amateurishly brought out as a film with no zero to no entertainment factor involved. There are songs, actresses, wits, but they are so damn boring, there is a strong chance people may stop it midway. The plot sure has potential, but with a feeble screenplay & disastrous framework & writing, Pigman is just another failure in Malayalam cinema. It is real shame for the makers to have adopted an award-winning story into such a gimmick. Dramas on social causes must be fathomable & not mainstreamed.BOTTOM LINE: Not recommended! But if you are into art-house flicks which talk deep about social issue (animal slaughter), go have a look.Profanity/Sex/Smoking: No | Violence/Gore: Mild | Alcohol: Mild
