The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.

One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.

This film focuses on British rule in India and British alliances with Indian royalty. I'll start of with the performances. Salman Khan does his bit with typical macho swagger - his role is perfect for him. Newcomer Zarine Khan is good in her role, but I think that she could do a little better should she get a role allowing her to do so in the future. Mithun Chakraborty is good along with Sohail Khan in supporting roles, as is Jackie Shroff in his negative role. The story of the film is good and Salman Khan deserves credit for writing it. The story keeps you engaged and you may feel an unusual feeling once it is finished since you were absorbed in the goings on in the movie for just over 2 hours and a half. The music is great. Sajid-Wajid have done a great job. The two tracks that stand out are 'salaam aaya' and 'taali'. The action is also great.Overall: definitely watch it. I give it 8/10.

I ignored this film for so much time after hearing an interview from Salman Khan. In the interview it was revealed that this plot came in to his head the same time as his earlier movie Chandramukhi. He said it was not feasible in those days to make a film on this scale and now it was so he was pushed and helped in releasing his movie Veer.I was thinking 20 years thought must be out dated and pain too watch like a lot of films that get released in the wrong decade. On this occasion I was wrong it was superb, dialogue, delivery, cast and stylisation brilliant. The producer, director and cinematographer enhanced this film with their production a brutally honest depiction of a proud but violent tribe that started a revolution.Zareena or fat Katrina as some have labelled was used I was people have posted as Katrina dropped out and they used her body double, how a body double in not proportionately the same I do not know. Zareena did a satisfactory job but this film required someone who is known and loved in Bollywood.Brilliant film, cast and production. Unfortunately Katrina or another celebrity was not in it for a commercial point of view and would have been a blockbuster

I have just finished watching the movie and was truly entertaining. Salman khan dialogs ,emotions and fighting scenes were truly worth watching. The movie has a terrific romantic story. Mithun Chakraborty is good as always. It is Salman best work and shows that he can produce movies that r marvelous. I have not seen any fantastic fight and bravery that was shown in the movie. From the first scene to the last scene , the movie kept me as a glue to my seat. It's a mixture of love ,hate, anger and pride. Nothing stopped me from watching this film. Really, I enjoyed this movie.

Why wasted so much efforts and time to throw more than 30 million dollars away, if they could throw all the money straight in the ditch and finish the job in just one second? Really, for me this movie is awful and lame. This is a perfect example of narcissist cinema. The central theme of the movie is not Veer but Salman Khan. So if you like to see a movie which highlights all angles of this icon, then this is your movie.People like me, who like to see a good developed character are curling their toes by witnessing this punishment. Salman is fully loaded with anabolics which block him even to try acting. Veer is king of looking dangerous with angry eyes, however I can't call that acting. The background music score is also terrible: throughout the whole movie you hear "ho ho ho ho ho ho". The stunts are so infantile: Mithun is getting wounded at the end by a small scratch and he yells like a woman giving birth to a baby. I think that this production is definitely not suitable for the westernized world and also not for Indians living in these sides of the world, due to it's logic, which irritates and hurts both eyes and ears. For me the enlightening part was just the appearance of the Dutch bodybuilder as a mad gladiator!Salman should continue doing movies like No Entry, wherein he plays a naive guy who is been fooled.Till today, in my opinion, Asoka is still the mature historical epic from Bollywood, produced in 2001.As for most Indian movies, I state that it's better to release special editions for the world outside India. By cutting redundant songs and some movie parts which has no added value to the main storyline, there will remain a better result to digest for the western viewers.
