I wanted to like it more than I actually did... But much of the humor totally escaped me and I walked out only mildly impressed.

Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.

A very good collection of short stories where forces of nature let people go into anxious darkness of evil. Evil also has a spirit and can go close to man. Ambitious horror - that's the idea of these stories where day is indistinguishable from night. This is a sleep that you can see. Power is transmitted to spectator for should go in dark. Each story hurts heart and in every end there is the irony of fate. These are dark stories where people overcome evil. This is a dark stories about darkness in heart. Light exists without us. Dark forest grows up ( 'Possum' story ) and sun get away from faces. Life among daemons of light and animals is dark anyway.

I watched Dark Stories: Tales from Beyond the Grave on DVD. It is not a feature length film, but a collection of short films. It could be called an anthology according to the dictionary definition, but is not a traditional anthology film. There is no linking story, and each short has its own titles and end credits. The main title is only on the box and the DVD menu; it is not part of the films. It was rather deceptive of the distributor to market this as a horror anthology. It's really more of a collection of art films, some of which have some dark themes, but most of which are not best described as horror films. That said, they are pretty interesting. Followed by two other Dark Stories short film compilations that aren't entirely horror either.
