I am only giving this movie a 1 for the great cast, though I can't imagine what any of them were thinking. This movie was horrible

This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.

This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

"Coffee or Quaaludes? We've got both!", exclaims an exasperated Jared Harris, who finds himself in the middle of a transmigration struggle between the souls of his wife (Alison Elliott) and a 2000 year old Irish Druid witch. The quote is an apt description of the film itself, which wraps bursts of genre violence inside a beautifully languid art horror packaging. Nice companion piece to writer/director Almereyda's earlier vampire tale Nadja. I recommend a double feature. Wine paired with Nadja, Guinness paired with The Eternal.(I'm an enthusiast, not a critic. Thanks for reading.)

This film is brilliant. I love the brash nature of the characters. Christopher Walken is magnificent. JIM is your old drinking buddy. Nora is you old school girlfriend. The mansion is great is like resident evil without zombies. Just your crazy grandma, the characters above, a witch, a bog man, a few kids, etc. Its like a trip. Keywords Druid Bog Ireland Walken Witch. I get the low rating because just think of the average IQ of the simpletons. We that appreciate movies like this are on a different level. I need to be rude sorry but this is one of my favorite movies. This film is a great story ! if you do not pay attention you will have no idea what going on. However! if you consume at least half a bottle of Jameson it makes it fun because that is whats happening in the movie.

I've got the feeling that somehow the director couldn't decide what kind of movie to make here: A psychodrama about the inner conflicts of a woman (concerned with her past) and/or the solving of the conflicts in a relationship *or* a simple slasher spiced up with some naive psychology. Or both. But the movie is still pretty impressive with great performances overall (especially by Allison Elliot - that woman has got more talent in her little finger than a lot of big stars do, and Richard Harris' son is great, too), an effective score which includes some cool songs (too bad there is not CD out - how canI get hold of "Rockets" or the song played during the end credits?) and interesting/atmospheric and very well done direction. But the Irish background of it all seems to be a little bit forced.Anyway, don't expect some kind of standard horror flick or you will be disappointed!

This movie is more deceiving than ever, using a suspenseful looking actor like Walken to play in this piece of junk made it look like he had nothing better to do than play a boring role like this one! And the fact that the movie was supposed to be about some witch and you really don't see that until almost the end of the movie but meanwhile you have to sit and watch this boring film while it gets, or tries to get to the meaning of the point and you have to go through this whole trail of boring actors and actresses thinking the whole time of how you passed off another movie and decided on this one and how you have just waisted your money just makes the whole point of time useless sitting there. I'd rather watch cartoons for goodness sakes. Leave this one alone, please!
