Crappy film
I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.
It's complicated... I really like the directing, acting and writing but, there are issues with the way it's shot that I just can't deny. As much as I love the storytelling and the fantastic performance but, there are also certain scenes that didn't need to exist.
It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.
An interesting, quirky movie. I have only seen this movie twice counting the time it was shown on TV a couple of weeks ago here and the first time I saw it I just could not get into it and avoided it... However when it aired on TV the second time I stuck around to watch and it turned out to be somewhat interesting. It certainly was very sentimental but not to the point where it showed signs of sugar overload. If anything it showed what the lead actress Joely Fisher was capable of. I really believed in her portrayal of Rita the lead character in this film....6/10
