Redundant and unnecessary.
Very interesting film. Was caught on the premise when seeing the trailer but unsure as to what the outcome would be for the showing. As it turns out, it was a very good film.
One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.
It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties. It's a feast for the eyes. But what really makes this dramedy work is the acting.
I have one nagging question here that really bugs me (pun intended). The president actually received an injection of the ebola virus when he ws shot. But the nurse and the secretary of state just got minute contact e.g. touching the wound and the needle. So how come they both died yet the president apart from looking a little grey - oh and his eyes were not so good at one point - he NEVER got really ill. He was so well in fact that he got dressed!!. whilst 2 staff nearby died!!. what a guy! and as for the horrible child who happened to be in Rwanda with his parents then ending up in the VERY SAME HOSPITAL and he also happened to be a specialist in wandering around air ducts! the worst movie ever made for sure!
When I started to watch this movie, it was immediately apparent it was not going to be of the highest quality. You may ask why I persevered and viewed the entirety of this celluloid excreta - this film is so bad, on so many levels (acting, script, plot), that one has to keep watching to find out whether the cast and crew can maintain such a ridiculously low level of quality for an entire film. One could be forgiven for thinking that this film was a spoof - its clichéd predictable script would only need direction to the 'actors' to turn this into a true, but poor quality, spoof.Although I have said this film is dire, I would recommend it - it's so bad, it's entertaining, however not in the same league as Edward D. Wood Jnr.
The movie "Contagion" seemed like a realistic and imaginable plot. The actors in the movie could have "acted" a little better. I do not believe that the movie writer or director did enough research as far as terminology and vocabulary use in scientifical and medical information. The movie seemed a bit disorganized and I couldn't tell if the movie was going to turn into a romance or stay on the "sci-fi" side of it. The precautions and information that the story line put out seemed a little elementary and rudimentary. The movie appeared to me that it would be more complicated than straight forward. The ending was very predictable and of course the movie always ends with a hero, survivor, and a small kid that "held the key", in the case of the movie, the cure.
The story of the movie was not really to bad, something like that could possibly happen now or in the future. Some parts of the story were really kinda silly and didn't make much since. The story didn't flow as good as it could have. The acting was another really big part that kept the movie from being better than it was. Some of the actors actions were just not really believable and did some very odd things. This was another big factor that kept the flow of the movie from being as smooth as it could. Like I said the storyline was for the most part believable, but their were some holes in the story. Their were a lot of parts where they didn't go into enough detail so you really don't know whats going on. But overall I gave Contagion a rating of 4.
