Absolutely the worst movie.
This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.
A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.
An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.
When I saw the trailer for this programme I immediately told my wife. I knew it was going to be tremendous. And so it proved.Strong characters brilliantly portrayed. It did have echoes of To Kill a Mockingbird with its story line of unreasoning prejudice coupled with courage, integrity and honour. It was slow: its script and acting to be savoured like good wine or whisky. It was easy to become involved with the main characters as they found themselves facing deeply challenging issues of racial prejudice and ignorance. American TV at its very best. We missed the final part due to some confused scheduling by Channel 4.It is impossible to obtain on DVD and does not seem likely of a repeat showing in the UK.I never did find out why it was cancelled: unpopular, too sensitive a subject?
This tv-series has everything, love , friendship, family everything. It´s filmed in a warm and beautiful way and makes you feel like you´re in the 50´s. This "movie" makes me think of that song " all i have to do is dream. See it, it´s truly wonderful.
