Easily the biggest piece of Right wing non sense propaganda I ever saw.
Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.
what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.

This time it concerns an old fellow, Eddy Asner, a surgeon who drinks really too much, and shows the collateral damages that occur. The problem is that his own son - himself also a surgeon - is a drug addict too. So, father and son are both deep in sh...You have here powerful, dramatic scenes, when you watch the slow destruction process of the entire family. The perfect topic for a TV movie destined to home audiences craving for realistic stuff, miles away from the ones you have in theatres, with super heroes and special, digital effects. It is twenty nine years old, but it remains very modern, as far as this problem - alcohol - will always be a real calamity for people. Strong performances here.
