In poor and lonely farm country, a woman calls a doctor out to make a house call on her strangly-ailing son. And what the old doctor finds when he gets there isn't listed in any medical books... Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!

In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.

This film was beautifully done! Every frame of this film could be an Old Masters painting! I loved the story, the three actors, and the whole feel of this film. I look forward to more of the Chill Factor series.Everyone seems to have really put their heart and souls into this piece. The extras on the making of House Call were very informative. I enjoyed watching all of the cast and crew working and figuring out scenes. It was nice to see how the special effects were done and the setups. Tom Savini has really found his Holy Grail with this series idea. I hope to see many more in the series. Bravo Mr.Savini!!!

I ordered this DVD on faith. Savini has seriously let me down in recent years (Vicious and his cameo in the remake of DOTD to name a few things) ... but good news to all you horror/Savini fans out there... SAVINI IS BACK!!!The concept of "Chill Factor" was fascinating to me, an unrated anthology series with no one to answer to besides the gore-lord Tom Savini. I forgave his previously mentioned sins, and decided to buy the DVD."House Call," the first episode, appears to herald something special. Good acting (atleast from the older actor), a very clever story, and good production value. The DVD special features are interesting and help add to the value of the DVD.Overall... I'll give this 8 stars out of 10.I'm crossing my fingers the quality of the series continues.
