good back-story, and good acting
It's hard to see any effort in the film. There's no comedy to speak of, no real drama and, worst of all.
The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.
One of the film's great tricks is that, for a time, you think it will go down a rabbit hole of unrealistic glorification.
Yeah, we have 2 tournaments! 1. Doom Vs. The Steiner Brothers 6.5/10 2. Sting Vs. Lex Luger - Mmm, strange ending. 6.5/10 3. Doom Vs. Road Warriors - Lol match 5/10 4. Great Muta Vs. Ric Flair - Heh matches are too short. 5.5/10 5. Steiner Brothers Vs. Road Warriors - Good match, but idiotic ending with screwed pin fall. 7/10 6. Sting Vs. Great Muta 6.5/10 7. Wild Samoans Vs. Doom 5/10 8.Lex Luger Vs. Ric FLair 5/10 9. Wild Samoans Vs. Steiner Brothers - Scotty with Frankensteiner! 1989! Lol at ending 6/10 10. Wild Samoans Vs. Road Warriors - Winners of the tournament are RW. 6/10 11. Sting Vs. Ric Flair - Finalmatch, naja, Sting wins, like always. 6.5/10 Matches weren't bad, but these non-elimination tournaments wasn't so entertaining, I don't know.
Starrcade (1989) involved two ironmen torunaments, one for the tag teams and one for the singles wrestlers. They're both bad and not even worth commenting on. The bookers tried to hard to be different and everyone involved wounded up on the short end of the stick. All of the wrestlers didn't seem to care for it at all. The Great Muta sleepwalked through his matches and Ric Flair wasn't the "Nature Boy" that night either. Just another showcase for Sting. Not recommended.D-Ric Flair does not make a very good face (i.e. good guy). He's the ultimate heel.
