One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.

I'm a big fan of RLM and have been for a while, I got this for my birthday and laughed the whole way. As a film, it's definitely not that good, but as a comedy by these guys, it's better than I'd expected. I gave it such a high rating purely because I had lots of fun watching it and I'm beyond happy that I got it. 10s come from filmmaking masterpieces in my reviewing, this perfect score is because I expected them to make fun schlock and got super schlock, it got a 10.

Space Cop (2016) is the biggest piece of schlock I have ever seen. The hack-frauds who made this movie are just puppets of the industry. They couldn't even get Rich Evans to work. He was the key to everything. I will say that the shots were fascinating and dense, there was so much going on. All jokes aside, this movie was extremely disappointing for me. I am a huge fan of RedLetterMedia and I had high hopes for the level of garbage the film would present. It was extremely hard to get through and it became annoying really quickly. The type of humor present was expected, but dear God it was really painful. Some of the one-liners were witty, but most of them were really poorly executed. The whole thing was at least competently made, and I can give them credit for at least trying as hard as they could when it came to structuring their film. Other than that, 'Space Cop' is a poor attempt at a "so bad it's good" flick, to the point where it is just pure mediocrity.

For what it is, it's a alright movie. It's not one of those bad movies that is so stupid that is actually really good. But I appreciate what it tried to do with the resources they had. The main reason a movie such as this got the recognition that it did was because it was made by RedLetterMedia. And if you are a fan of RedLetterMedia, you just might have more appreciation for a movie such as this. Because it's created by people that are huge fans of movies and it took like 3 years to make this movie. I could tell some parts they were trying really hard to make it funny by making homage to some B movies that are unintentionally funny. With it's low production value actually adding to the humor. What this is, is a low budget buddy cop comedy that takes on a really bizarre route with a cop from the past teaming up with a cop from the future. Which does lead to some amusing moment, not super funny or anything like that but it was amusing. Even if some of the jokes dragged on and on, overall it still was a amusing movie to sit through.6.5/10

This film was so dense, every single image had so much going on. There were lots of hidden easter eggs, you didn't notice it...but your brain did.No but seriously, I did find this legitimately funny. As soon as RLM announced that they would be making this (about 12 years ago) I knew it would be gold...and it was! The sets and props looked appropriately cheesy and the classic RLM humour was all there. I really hope Rich wins an Oscar for his performance here. He certainly deserves it. I hope they do a 'Best of the Worst' episode where they watch this movie, that'd be great...oh and another Plinkett review. YOU HACK FRAUDS!I rate this 10 out of 10 Pizza rolls!
