07-Ghost (2009)
Set in a gothic fantasy world, this is the story of Teito Klein, an orphaned slave who became the top military academy student. However, an unexpected turn of events left him pursued by the forces of the Barsburg Empire. Now an escaping convict, Teito's sheltered by the church and its law of sanctuary. Here, he discovered many mysteries surrounding himself, the church, and the Empire itself. The fact that he might be connected to a dethroned king and the mystical stone of god, "The Eye of Mikhael", made him the target of the empire more than ever. Fortunately the church is under the mythical 7 Ghost protection. But who are the Ghosts really. Will Teito be free from the military's clutch, and what of his said mission to uncover the history. And who is the military's Chief-of-Staff Ayanami exactly. Teito's future seems to have spiraled into an unexpectedly perilous path.

Teito Klein is a young student at the Barsburg Military Academy living in the same dorm with his best friend Mikage.
Three men are riding on hawkzile when Teito crashes into one of the men, Frau, and he is brought in to the Church.
Teito is about to leave the church when instead, he is brought to a place that seems to be the cafeteria by Frau.
Teito talks with the old man, and tells him his wish to see Mikage.
Teito is greeted by the sisters, who want to do his laundry.
The Church has its annual bazaar, and Teito, Mikage, and the sisters visit the bishops' shops.
Mikage wonders whether or not he should leave the church, but is interrupted by Teito.
As Teito and Mikage talk, Labrador predicts that the “storm” will come very soon, and right now is the “calm”.
Mikage, controlled by Ayanami, is still fighting Teito while Frau is on his way.
Teito decides to leave the church believing he should not cause anyone any more trouble, on the way he meets Castor who asks him if he knows the shinigami Zehel.
Teito, now staying in the church, wonders what he can do to atone for Mikage's death.
A man is seen making an agreement with a Kor, and being possessed by it.
Aldo, the criminal, is mysteriously murdered.
Castor, Labrador, and Frau talk about the mysterious figure who attacked Castor.
Teito states that he's putting all his effort into studying for the Bishop's Exam.
Labrador tells Castor and Teito that Fraus be given the death sentence.
The boys are soon joined by Arch-Bishop Bastian, who tells them all about Frau's childhood.
After Teitos has been knocked out, Hakuren continues to fight Bastian.
Castor uses Kuroyuri to speak with Ayanami.
After being captured by Ayanami, Teito and Hakuren escape the military air ship and get support from Frau.
The military found out about the Eye of Mikhail and its master, Teito, and decide to search for him.
After passing the first exam, Teito and Hakuren get to see the progress of others and how some fumble at the last challenge when their greedy nature makes them fail.
The second exam resumes for the remaining trainees and comes in the worst form imaginable: the physical realization of their deepest fears.
Ayanami appears in front of Teito and Teito wonders if Ayanami is just an illusion like before.
Teito uses the power of the Eye of Mikhail to summon Frau, Castor, Labrador, Lance, and the Black Hawks.
