Scottish film actor David Hayman, star of the ITV drama Trial and Retribution, begins his series exploring the scenic beauty, history, and culture of Scotland with a journey into the Highlands and Islands across Argyll to Glencoe.

The actor embarks on a journey into Speyside and the Cairngorms, where he fulfils a childhood dream aboard a restored steam train, feeds Nordic reindeer and canoes down the River Spey to seek out the oldest living thing in Britain.
David's journey draws to a close with a venture along the rugged North Sea shores of East Lothian. Here, he takes a trip to Bass Rock, discovers the origins of Scotland's national flag and of Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island. Last in the series.
