As Nelson Mandela is released from 27 years in prison in 1990, Stewart 'Boetie Boer' Wilken starts his killing spree. Unlike most serial killers, he had more than one type of victim. He also claimed to engage in necrophilia and cannibalism.

Stewart's relationship with his first wife is deeply troubled. When he learns of their daughter being molested by her new husband, the thought drives him mad.
Twenty-five years later, the possibility of parole brings Stewart's now grown children back into his life, asking pertinent questions about their past and what hope there is for a future.
