Wedding.con is a true crime documentary series about five women who seek to fulfill a universal dream - Marriage. However, in their search for the perfect life-partner, they end up getting exploited financially and emotionally by conmen with fake identities, posing as suitable grooms on popular online platforms.

Sneha, Priyanka, Veena; women of differing age and background, have one thing in common: their online search for a partner. And they seem to have found eligible men who shower them with affection. They are excited, soon they’ll be married! They have no idea of the well planned fraud that will rip their lives apart.
Sandhya and Nithya have family pressure to get married; they’re relieved to find good matches online. The young men have professional commitments abroad and want speedy marriages but since they meet all other points on the matrimonial ‘checklist,’ the women agree. Priyanka, in love, agrees to help Mark financially. Sneha and her family like Rohan but are pushed into a hurried engagement
In a culture committed to the institution of marriage, a conman figures out what’s missing in his victims’ lives and promises them that. For the women, the need to ignore the red flags arises because they have already invested their money and dreams of their future in these relationships. Nithya agrees to follow the visa process. Priyanka and Veena are further deceived by their perpetrators.
What started off as a perfect match online, is now falling apart and has turned into a full-blown nightmare. Priyanka’s anxiety over Mark causes an accident that could’ve killed her. Vamsi’s love for Sandhya reduces after she transfers money to him for her visa. Nithya gets a call that a phone’s been purchased on her name by a stranger. Rohan’s hiding something and Sneha decides to uncover it.
In marriage there’s a wish to share the deepest parts of ourselves with the partner. And when one suddenly realises it’s a con, what does one do with a broken heart, the loss of dignity, the huge financial debt? What kind of support does society and the law offer to victims of online, matrimonial fraud? How do these five women receive justice? More importantly, how do they heal?
