Reviews
It’s an especially fun movie from a director and cast who are clearly having a good time allowing themselves to let loose.
There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes
It is neither dumb nor smart enough to be fun, and spends way too much time with its boring human characters.
Actress is magnificent and exudes a hypnotic screen presence in this affecting drama.
I was prepared not to like this movie. I'm female, and I'm not interested in glorifying womanizers. But once I let my guard down a bit, I started enjoying the film, which I caught at an indie film festival. The narrator started with a much more serious tone than I anticipated, delving into the origins of his womanizing. But there is humor throughout and great acting. Genius performances by many of the actors, particularly Gary Busey, the sidekick, and the political cause girlfriend. Although the topic is raunchy, there is actually no sex or nudity scenes. I think this film might represent a new genre, one that is still grown up without being trashy, a comedy with heart, maybe one would call it naughty neutral. You can take your boyfriend/husband for sure and not be totally offended yourself.
