Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.

It was OK. I don't see why everyone loves it so much. It wasn't very smart or deep or well-directed.

Dave, an artist and kind of a loser who has never completed anything in his life, decide one day to build a fort in his house with all kinds of traps and such. Even though I give the director and it's writers acompliment for trying, this film is just a mess.

I just saw this (twice!) at a film festival, it really is that good. Combines everything that's both kid and adult simultaneously in one convenient package with imagination, thrills, chills, and laughter. I felt young again with each viewing as I did a lot of paper product projects myself as a kid (from board games, to comic books, to my own sets of work). Adding to the imagination is the hilarity of finding Dave inside the Maze and the many traps and creatures such as the Minotaur. One of my favorite moments is where the people become paper-bag people it's laugh out loud funny! Another good one is Dave's interview where he discusses what brought him to make the maze, including his life in general, which some people could probably relate to, and at the same time makes you wonder what he's going to do when he gets out. I smell a cult following on this one! One of my two favorite movies!

Firstly, it's technically a "labyrinth", not a maze...Dave builds a labyrinth in his lounge room from cardboard boxes. His girlfriend comes home and finds a number of boxes put together to make what can best be described as a children's fort. However, it is in fact, a multi-dimensional creation. When people enter the first box, they actually enter a larger than life creation (a bit like a TARDIS where the space is bigger on the inside than the outside). The people who enter want to explore more, only to find that they are being tracked by the Minotaur and, dodging a series of booby traps inside the creation (which take out a few unlucky individuals), there is no blood when they die, just red streamers). This is a very quirky movie and an absolute delight to watch.Ignore the negative reviews and treat yourself to this indie movie and enjoy.

I ended up seeing this a few times after telling a couple people about it and re-watching it with them.I think all the positive reviews got it right so I'll focus on the negative ones.... This is not going to be a movie for everyone. If you can't be immersed and just go with something completely outlandish and let it take you where you're going to go, you may not like this. If you can just let go of the "that's not possible" mindset, this movie is great.
