Good movie but grossly overrated
good back-story, and good acting
I really wanted to like this movie. I feel terribly cynical trashing it, and that's why I'm giving it a middling 5. Actually, I'm giving it a 5 because there were some superb performances.
The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one
Liked the story and it's perfect for kids as well as adults BUT I'm sure that this will create a surge in buying brachycephalic (flat-faced) dogs without thinking about their health issues. Since I don't support the breeding or beautifying of flat-faced dogs, it I'm only going to give this movie one star.
This is just a terrible movie. Every cliche in the book, not an original, or funny, line, almost insulting in its banality. A superb cast, given absolutely nothing to work with - script not even edited. All concerned should be ashamed of themselves - clearly a vanity project for Jennifer Saunders
So much better than expected, not your usual CGI pet talking plop. Animals were cute without it feeling fake. Story was funny, then sad followed by a twist or two, ending in happily ever after. Super cast of top actors. Best way to spend 2 hours of air conditioned bliss in a heat wave and I came away pleased that i'd only nearly spent our life savings on a small carton of pop corn and a soft drink but the film was good value after all.
Having seen the trailer numerous times on kids tv channels this was the obvious choice for a trip to the cinema for celebrating school ending. If you are wanting a film that will keep them occupied for 90 minutes then just about fits the bill. Easy to follow Plot that isn't terribly original but zips along and is pleasant enough. The main cast put there all into it and it's good to see some classic British actors in cameos. The star of the film is the Pug though. Always cute, always looking for trouble. If there was more then it would be even better.
