The film is a well shot horror tragedy that gives the audience questions of what is going on next. I thought the main actress was good and the father was also a good character for this type of film who brings stability along with a good performance from the actor. The stepmom twist was good and not expected but i wont ruin it as horror fans should check this out for sure.

the makers of this movie certainly got confused with the genre,it has an supernatural horror mixed with mystery and thriller and that's the reason the movie makes lesser impact than it could have done. if the movie had an mystery thriller genre this could be an decent movie. otherwise it has an great suspense..

I haven't seen that many scary movies, but one thing I know for sure. This movie is not a scary one. Suspense maybe, but not scary.About this movie: from the beginning you understand that the stepmother was not the one that made that happen. You might not know for sure, but you clearly understand that Rachel was not responsible, at least not alone (I thought Alex - Anna's sister - was also responsible for the fire). I mean, there are SO many clues and not even small ones, you start to guess that the authors want you to think Rachel did it, so you start to think otherwise. There are some good things on the movie though: for instance, I never thought Alex was dead on the fire as well, but after that revelation it makes sense: she never talks to anyone except Anna, and when she is talking to the father, he doesn't respond (and Anna is watching, so makes sense). The end was not predictable: I didn't thought Anna was going to murder her stepmother and end again in the mental Hospital. However, once she returns, you understand that the other pacient is related to the story (and in fact it is). On the other hand, as soon Anna reads her name in the internet (thinking that must be Rachel), that should have made a "click" on her mind... She must have read that name before I'm assuming. PS: I didn't understand the relation between the name of the movie and the movie itself...

The Uninvited is the epitome of today's, PG-13 date/horror movie. It's uncomplicated, packed with jump moments, and it has the obligatory twist at the end. If you haven't gotten thoroughly tired of this kind of thing by now, then The Uninvited might be worth the price of two movie tickets. The film mainly focuses on its trio of gorgeous female stars (Emily Browning, Elizabeth Banks and Arielle Kebbel). None of them are required to do any acting heavy lifting, but they all serve their parts well enough. The only quibble I had was with Banks, but she probably only seemed miscast because of the last few roles that I've seen and enjoyed her in.Anyway, as this is a modern, mainstream horror film, it's not very scary. The twist ending may or may not come as a surprise, but it doesn't really add much to the film. Check this out if you're a fan of any of the actresses or if you're bored. But don't expect to be frightened or particularly satisfied by The Uninvited.
