Jane is a beautiful but troubled American girl backpacking through Japan, when her raw street fighting skills draw the attention of Oshima, Japanese karate champion, who recruits and trains her to fight in the vicious, all-female, underground martial arts tournament known as "The Kumite". After months of rigorous preparation, Jane is ready to face off against the deadliest female fighters in the world, including Ling, the Chinese apprentice of Oshima's nemesis. But other nefarious forces lie in the shadows, and Jane and Ling will have to unite on a journey that will take them from the gritty underworld of Hong Kong to the glitz of Macao, before deciding who really is the best female fighter on the planet.

Ok... Let's be honest. It cannot be the best movie but is quite enjoyable. The movie has the potential to develop a great plot for future movies

I Love Female in Acton Movies Like This Who Has Taste of Fighting and Martial Arts I Love that i really do i am guy who really likes that specially male lead roles like Jean Claude van damme bloodsport of crouse. this is a lot different but similar but too different i thought characters were really good specially villain in this Svietta (Mayling Ng) she was like Bolo Yenug from Bloodsport and Double Impact with blind eye with scar looks like female version of Bolo Yenug witch it looked SO CRAZY i thought the story was really good i never seen movie like this underground with women expect for fight valley piece of crap but this a lot better. this is a lot of fun fighting, badass women you will always like god it turned me on not just because i am male liking this movie over of hot women it's looking at females who want's to train and fight like man type of thing like Bloodsport, Kickboxer, Blood and Bone, Undisputed Version looking of movie. lead role was really good i mean the actors in this movie were stunt women and knows how to perform fight scenes know how action works not getting random woman doesn't know about action, doesn't know about anything fighting that would be taking hours to train someone like that but with female actress they know stunts and martial arts witch is good makes looks characters more REAL rather then getting female who doesn't know anything. like Mayling Ng is a flexes her martial arts and acting skills to a world stage. And there's no stopping her. Since winning the Singapore Bikini Competition in 2011, to her first feature role as Jasmin in Mister John a Singapore co-production, to representing Singapore in the Arnold Classic in 2013, Mayling's martial arts and fitness career. someone like her oh yeah because sometimes in action movies if you need a female it's not about acting, great performance ! in movies this is more of action gore style with real woman knows martial arts does he own stunts (Amy Johnston) she does a lot stunts as well in movies but as actress she is still good knows stunt performing in this movie very well not like getting stunts from different to do it for her, it's really good. now i wanna see Female Fight Squad with Dolph lundgren witch is another fighting movie with her in it like this but a lot different. to this plot of movie it's about blonde young American girl (Amy Johnston) Lost her father longtime ago 18 years he went to tourment never come back Jane mother is saying it's suicide but she went on her own still to risk her life goes to Asia to go fight in tournament fight club underground. she gets robbed buy thugs and another female saves her life, Shu (Muriel Hofmann) is like master to her teaches her to fight like if you want to call her Mr. Kesuke Miyagi female version of her. her character trains her takes her to fight tourment she another characters of females cassidy (Jet Tranter) and Ling is alongside with Wai (Jenny Wu) and Russian Psycho looks like Villain Female Version of Yuri Boyka Svietta (Mayling Ng) she is most psycho character she is crazy villain in this movie but only problem she play's Russian character but she is Asian in real life but i am like OK ? can't hire female Russian Natalia Kuznetsova she is Russian but to Mayling Ng made her with make up all that i didn't even release she was Asian until i search her up but they could hired Natalia Kunznetsova she is real Russian giant bodybuilder looking she is but anyway it's not a problem i liked Mayling Ng. and fight scenes WOW comeptlyey fun i well shot it's all in one shot well done made of movie, i thought Amy Johnston kicked big ass in movie she knows stunts and martial arts that's how movie worked if she wasn't any of that then, movie would have less very less interset to it sadly. but i thought start to end was very fast pacing. it's a lot of action female fighting style and director Chris Nahon who did Kiss of dragon (2001) still knows how to make a action movie very well i haven't been to Asia but he did a good job highlighting the beauty of Hong kong he toke location well shot for place. it's really good give this movie running time 1h 40min but end credits it's 1h 39min

Sorry feminists but here ya go. This has an all female leading cast and attractive girls beating each other up the lead is now a successful stunt woman fun to watch while wasted. There are many conversations between two or even 6 women that have nothing to do with a man, and then they kungfu fight each other. It's certainly not an A list Hollywood production but if you like seeing lots of cute girls beat each other up in a non anime/fantasy scenario give it a watch.

I wasn't planning on writing anything about this great film, but my eye caught the highest ranked review that is surprisingly negative and unhelpful.I honestly feel that Lady Bloodfight is one of the best martial arts movies that I have seen in many years, but for different reasons.I lived in Asia for seven years working, traveling and studying. I feel that the director did a good job at highlighting the beauty of Hong Kong.I spent years learning various kung fu forms and weapons in subfreezing weather in Northern China near Siberia and North Korea.I studied with Shaolin monks and spent a lot of time learning Chinese philosophy and Buddhism. There is nothing like learning how to use a Shaolin rope dart in -20 degree weather at 6 am surrounded by strangers exercising in a giant park.My training was quite casual compared to the realistic and painful training depicted in the film. This film does an excellent job at illustrating the genuine focus of martial arts as self-control, inner stability and personal development. The fight sequences are raw, well-choreographed and absolutely amazing. I even learned a few new moves for my weapons training. The actresses are tough, beautiful and independent, which will be offensive to critical and narrow-minded people. This is the first well-made martial arts film that I have seen that truly demonstrates female strength and empowerment. There are a few confusing plot twists, but I agree with the LA Times that movie goers should simply skip the plot and focus on the exciting action.

The film opens with two women fighting in the Kumite (Ku-ma-ta) in Hong Kong to a draw. One is in black and the other in white showing off some simple Yin-Yang. The woman in black refuses to split the prize so the two fighters are to train someone for the 435th event five years later. We see various street tough girls around the world get invitations and then we see Jane (Amy Johnston) a PBR drinking waitress harassed by rude customers. Who else in the world is tougher? She leaves her waitress job and takes her skills to Hong Kong to compete. Okay, she has some formal training and an ulterior motive which we discover later as an attempt to create a plot outside of women beating each other up. After all, who wants to just watch cat fights? In Hong Kong we see the woman in black train the Hong Kong version of Harley Quinn (Muriel Hofmann). Jane, our Barbie doll, trains with the woman in white, who she once refers to as Mrs. Miyagi. Yes there are gross similarities to "The Karate Kid." The training period which makes up so many fight films showing unorthodox training techniques that figure in later on, was relatively brief .The film has some ties to real life. In the film Jane was trained by her father, Amy was trained by her father David Johnston. Amy was also a stunt double in "Suicide Squad" and is Scarlett Johansson's stunt double.Mayling Ng, martial arts fighter and bikini contestant is also in the film. There are a lot of hard bodies in locker room scenes in various stages of dress. Blood and killing.Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity.
