Just perfect...
It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional
When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.
This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.
Very cute, very funny and sweet little movie. It's probably not a masterpiece but it will leave you a smile on your face :-)
This is all about the Baby Boomer generation, but nonetheless, it is a good film for all generations to see. Gives adult children and grandchildren a peek into the lives of seniors, validating some stereotypes and banishing others. Blythe Danner, Rhea Pearlman, and Sam Elliott give us a look at retirement for the single middle class woman. While they are seemingly in good health most have fallen into dreary routines. Some are comfortable with their lives, some have settled, and others are desperate for change, but just don't know it.Grab your favorite beverage and watch a film that may look a bit predicable, but in the end turn out not to be as predicable as you may have thought.
Normally I don't rate a movie here, but here goes. Don't watch this. You'll want to sue somebody to get your time back. If your wife wants to watch this because it's a chick flick and it's "her" turn, come down with the flu. And I'm someone who can sit through a chick flick. My wife and I both wanted to throw this movie at some passerby. I'm scratching my head trying to figure out why people try to sugar coat this one; this is in my top 5 worst movies of all time. And now I'm going to sue someone for the time it took to write this review. Run, get diarrhea, get a fever, or get hit by a bus - do ANYTHING it takes to NOT WATCH this film. You're welcome.
Saw this beautiful little film. In the beginning I saw a woman with her dog on the bed. Then I find out that dog is sick and has to be put to sleep so I was thinking where this movie is going? Then suddenly I was engaged into the story of this older woman who is living a retired life and she just takes it, what life brings to her. It was actually very interesting and I could relate to it because I have a friend Julie who had a dog as her best friend for years and then she had to put her to sleep because her dog got really old and could not walk anymore. Danning then meets this guy who comes to clean her pool. It was so interesting to see that they just did not fall in love. It was a platonic relationship and they just enjoyed this friendship on this journey of life. Not every man which comes in her life is going to be her boyfriend. We meet people along the way and we give them chances and thats what I liked about this film. Its so simple story and so beautifully told and so close to life. This character just takes what life gives it to her and she is content with it. Danning gave a great performance and the pool guy was a good actor. I liked the daughter with her innocent face and acting skills. The scene where mother and daughter talk after such a long time made me cry.
