It's the kind of film that keeps upping the ante, just when you think it's falling into place, the plot takes a twist you never see coming. A beautifully brutal movie. It's a wonderful twisted mystery/fairy tale.

One of the best movies ever made. Makes Quentin Tarantino films look tame. Great story and great characters. Constantly moving action. Not a single moment boring and not predictable on any level. Great set pieces. Fantastic cinematography. Crooked cops, Russian and Italian mobs, drug dealers and pimps, all covered without being contrived. A real modern fairy tale. A sure neoclassic. Have recommended to all kinds of people, from librarians to white and blue collar professionals - all agreed it was one of the most unique film experiences ever. Put aside your genre preferences and see this unique masterpiece of story telling. You will not regret it.

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. The acting was top-notch, the action was brutal yet captivating at the same time, and to make such an edge-of-your-seat thriller with such a simple plot is bravo in my book. As soon as the opening scene concludes it leaves you craving for more and the rest of the movie certainly delivers with an ending that satisfies. There's one particular scene in the movie that is definitely going to get under your skin (You'll know when you see it) and it will either make or break the movie. After I saw this scene I was on my feet cheering for the "good guy" wanting more and more. The only thing about the movie that was fairly annoying was the way the movie was being filmed, visually. Awkward camera angles and frizzy camera images left the movie annoying to watch at times, but fortunately id does not take away from the movie. All in all, if you have a solid stomach, crave an intriguing thriller without having to think much, this is your movie. Highly recommended.

I'm amazed on how people find this movie good or even casual good...I mean yeah you got interesting actors and that's it,besides that the characters and presented in a way that it seems that an 8 year old wrote this movie, all the characters are empty and surreal stereotypes or feel taken out of a soap opera(no I take that back..soap operas are bad,but this movie it's an offense to even soap operas)besides that the story it's so bad that they had to take a plot(a bad one BTW) and just say..OK let's complicate this as much as we can and roll with it.I'm baffled at how this movie has such a high score...I'm gonna pretend that it's a pay for review campaign just to be able to maintain a slight hope for humanity.
