A different way of telling a story

At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.

this cracking kung fu action flick came out in 2005 with 1hr36mins of head pummeling martial arts action with jet Li in spell bounding form with an impressive cast of bob Hoskins and Morgan freeman as a blind man jet Li is Danny who is as a slave raised by gangster bob Hoskins to be violent fighting machine and a compete in a illegal gladiator style fight clubs when Danny has chance encounter with a blind piano player tuner ( Morgan freeman character) Danny experiences of true kindness for the first time and escapes he escapes from the underworld to live with the piano tuner and his family but the mob go looking for Danny but wont give up on their asset Danny must fight his way out of his old life to protect his new identity new family and shed his old life for good better than expected film 7/10

Bart (Bob Hoskins) is a vicious loan shark. He has trained Danny (Jet Li) as his personal attack dog. When people don't pay, he takes off Danny's collar which sends him into attack mode. Danny is befriended by blind piano tuner Sam (Morgan Freeman). When someone pump bullets into Bart's car, Danny escapes and finds refuge with Sam and his step-daughter Victoria (Kerry Condon). Danny learns to be human from them but Bart comes back into his life.I love the idea of Danny the dog and his collar. There are lots of great Jet Li fight action. He does well enough with the acting. It helps that his character is still learning to speak. I actually would prefer he speaks less in this movie. Also I'm not sure if they are trying to make Victoria the romantic companion. At 18, her character is a little young. It would have been better if she's in her 20s. It's a pretty good action movie with an intriguing premise.

One film that I recommend highly is Danny The Dog aka Unleashed.This might be the kind of film you'd expect from Bob and perhaps Morgan, but throw in Jet and you're like: what?! Luc Besson has written an emotionally deep story. Danny (Jet Li) is a young boy who was brought up by a thug (Bob Hoskins), but he escapes to the loving family of Sam and Victoria (Morgan Freeman and Kerry Condon). He slowly learns to trust again but is torn when his owner returns.It is such a sweet story and I do not know why it wasn't awarded anything as it is not your run of the mill action flick. It has so much heart. I don't cry at many films, especially ones starring Jet Li, but this film drew water to my eyes in it's conclusion.Massive Attack provided a brilliantly moving soundtrack for the film, bringing a realism and adding to the emotional influence of the film.

unleashed or Danny the dog 2005 i have watched a different DVD its called Danny the dog same film but few differences like too many cut scenes there is a r-rated & unrated version of this film,starting jet Li,Kerry condon & Morgan freeman.Danny is a man who lives a different live then any other human his uncle(bob hoskins) is a cruel man who loves to watch people die by letting Danny loose on people when the collar on his neck gets removed. later Danny finds new people & live with them they are SAM & Victoria they have a tragic past too but soon Danny finds himself in danger again.how he escapes & fights the bad guys you will have to see the movie yourself.this is not the kind of jet Li film i was expecting as a jet Li fan i must say this is only for die hard jet Li fans only.like me i love collecting his films on DVD so its fine for me.but why jet Li do this film for money.this is one of his saddest films.& Danny is such a weird character.it could have been much better but sadly it failed.anyway my rating is 5/10 sorry but thats all i can give.
