Funny, strange, confrontational and subversive, this is one of the most interesting experiences you'll have at the cinema this year.

There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes

The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful

It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.

Aaron Paul plays a man named David who is in love with a girl named Claire played by Annabelle Wallis.. Claire isn't who she says she is, and David is just a regular guy. Claire disappears from David's life. She didn't 'disappear', she left David without telling him thus the title of the film is incorrect because she never asks, leaves clues (she does leave something behind but David wasn't necessarily supposed to find it) or anything telling David to find her; he does that on his own because he can't seem to get over her, i.e. he can't let go. I've read reviews on this film that the poster is misleading in that the character of David is holding a gun. If you zoom it in, the guy holding the gun is clean shaven and wearing a suit, and the character of David has a beard and I don't remember ever seeing him in a suit in this film. The guy holding the gun on the poster is more likely the character John Hall played by Garret Dillahunt, the antagonist. Though, one could stipulate there are many antagonists in this film. Claire is either an assassin, or gov't agent, or something...I forget; doesn't matter: she's the one who can fight and handle a gun which was a huge surprise to David and why wouldn't it be? Usually it's the other way around so it's a nice change of pace for it being a young 20 something girl who seems to love photography but seems to be a 'bad girl' who can kick some butt. The flashbacks didn't bother me, also if one noticed: things that seemed off to him in his relationship with her seems to now make some sense to him and that she could actually be this person he wishes or doesn't want to believe to be true, is confirmed to him in the varying flashbacks. It would have bothered me if there was narration. That would have been awful, or slow motion scenes. Sometimes with first time directors that's the sort of stuff they use. Glad none of that was in it. It progressed pretty well, could have been faster in some scenes and slower in others but it was overall fine. It, I felt, was a little above average but not great. It sort of gets redundant in parts, and with some minor clichés throughout.Overall, it's worth a watch. It's not bad. May have done well in theaters during a quiet month but whatever...

I have no idea what Hollyweird dive they fished Aaron Paul out from, but throw him back!! What a colossally bad actor. He is so unconvincing even laughable trying to play a strong male lead lover. I even had to stop halfway, I ended up feeling embarrassed for him! From his always coiffed Bart Simpson rooster frolic, to the perpetual five o'clock shadow. Hasn't h-weird moved on from that look yet? You ain't got it Aaron, stick to what you know best bud. This might have been a good flick had it had some strong leads, or at-best they didn't keep going back in memoryland over and over with Aaron trying to play the hetro lover! Screeech! NOT! Hey, the Russian dude in the junkyard was good.

This is the dumbest movie I have wasted my time on. Girl goes "missing" for over a year. Guy is sad. He never goes to work and wears the same jean jacket through the whole movie - I guess then had a small wardrobe budget. Then she saves him, wants the film that SHE hid, and then the movie ends. No answers - oh my god I want my two hours back!!!!

Teenager's wet dream about "this really cool girl, who really, REALLY loved me".What's not to like? The girl is pretty and really cool, there is some chasing, shooting, even torture. The protagonist is likable, even though he constantly (even in his happy times) looks hangover and sounds a little buzzed. My only complaint is the use of the elevator music, but this is a common issue with "independent" cinema.Otherwise very entertaining.
