I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

I really wanted to like this movie. I feel terribly cynical trashing it, and that's why I'm giving it a middling 5. Actually, I'm giving it a 5 because there were some superb performances.

The best films of this genre always show a path and provide a takeaway for being a better person.

I have not read the original book yet, but I love everything about this movie. The actors playing superbly their roles, the slow development of the story, the atmosphere of this old century London. Generally I am amazed every time I watch a British movie or a film for another chronological period, stories like Jane Eyre, Oliver Twist, Pride & Prejudice..This movie awakens in me a certain sensibility, reminds me of my childhood memories, as it is one of the first films I ever watched and later on I was spellbound with movies and cinema. I recommend you to watch it without hesitation, specially if you love this kind of movies.

David Copperfield is a word by word adaptation of the famous (controversially biographical) novel by Charles Dickens. Daniel Radcliffe plays David, who happens to lose his father posthumous to his birth, and falls into the hands of an evil step father and a step aunt. All goes by the novel, but what you would love in the adaptation is the beautiful england countryside, and also the actors in the movie(You can see where Harry potter and LOTR got their stars from) who do justice to the Dickens Masterpiece. The DVD is worth buying and treasuring as it easily stands for generations,if you don't intend on reading the novel. All is said, enjoy!

With a wonderful cast, this "typical Dickens" is lovely. Little Dan, is the biggest ball of fluff that I have ever scene. So cute.I felt that all the actors suited their roles perfectly including Bob Hoskins (which I had doubts on hearing he stared in it).Adult Dan is extremely irritating after seeing Dan play the role for practically the whole film/drama, but never mind. He only stays for three scenes or so.I wasn't expecting to enjoy it, but I did, despite one or two tears trying to escape from time to time.Get hold of a copy and watch as soon as you can.

This adaptation by far beats all the David Copperfield movies.Daniel Radcliffe as David Copperfield is wonderful! He is so angelic as David. The Acting by all the adults in this film was wonderful! Agnes, Peggoty, Aunt Betsy were all portrayed well! At least, they were all better than the 2000 Tv version of David Copperfield.Uriah Heep is wonderful!!!!!Very creepy! Dora is perfect too!watch this! I recommend it!10/10
