One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.

I sure hope that all you guys giving this movie high ratings don't have friends like the characters depicted in this movie or think that this is normal friendship. The characters in this movie are loud, selfish, self-centered, narcissistic, brash, conniving, immoral, inappropriate around children, childish, unintelligent, underhanded, and bullish. And that just describes the first ten minutes. It is difficult to watch a drama where no one is appealing or likable. There is no one to root for in his movie. Is it bad if you just want the house they are all staying in to burn to the ground while they are all sleeping? Although you could show it to your children so they can see first hand how ugly all this behavior will make you look as an adult. Beautiful house, beautiful actors, and beautiful clothes cannot hide the ugliness pervasive in this movie.

The Best Man Holiday 2.5/10- First of all, do not confuse this movie with any sort of Tyler Perry kind of movie nonsense. This movie is its own kind of comedy. The thing that disappointed me about this movie though is it had a lot more drama then it led you on to believe. I never saw the first movie, so I am not going to make any comparisons. Luckily though, the movie does a quick recap of what happened in the last film and what the relationships are like between all of the characters. One of the reasons I wanted to see this movie is because it had some actors that I think are pretty good actors so I thought how bad could it be. I was somewhat pleased with the results.The acting ensemble of The Best Man Holiday all did a relatively good job. Terrence Howard was probably the funniest guy in the film, but I do not know if he deserves all the credit since he is playing the single guy of the group and is given the best lines. And that was the thing that I thought was wrong with the movie, it just was not nearly as funny as it led you on to believe and as a result a lot of people in the theater leave disappointed. It is not the actors fault either, the lines they were given just were not all that funny. The writers of the movie, in my opinion, did not give there best effort and were just hoping they had enough loyal fans from the first movie that were willing to walk into the movie blind. This plan seemed to play off well I guess because it did fairly well at the box office, but that is just lazy and those writers will have a shorter career then they planned to if they continue like this. The thing that most people love about this movie is the message it leaves you with at the end of the movie. It will tell you that you can turn your back on family or true friends. It makes you think about any bad relationships you have and how you can fix them because you will always need your family and friends around when life gets hard and as we all know it is a guarantee that life will get hard. This message is one of the few reasons why I think this movie is passable.In the end, The Best Man Holiday is an average comedy drama that I recommend you wait to see when it comes out on DVD. I loved the characters. Story was OK, acting OK. So why the low score? The language was terrible. Is this really the way black men talk to each other and about their wives and girls? I hope not. Do they think that makes them "manlier"? That's enough reason I wouldn't even want one of these guys. People are going to consider this a "black film" and this is the way you want us to think you behave? You want to be "mainstream"? Then you need to speak with and to all of us with respect and decency. I wouldn't put up with that kind of language myself or permit it to be around my children. Why would anyone expect me to pay money for people to speak so disrespectfully around me? How long will it take for me to just avoid "black films" altogether? How many people already do avoid these movies for that reason?

Wow, this is a must see movie... This movie made me laughed and it made me cry... I had to pause the movie to pull myself together , before continuing again ( obviously I watched it alone ) ... And I will watch it again and again ...laugh and cry again over for the same scenes in the movie... I totally loved the story line... This movie really contains drama and comedy... I am definitely planning on watching the 1st part 'The Best Man' again and obviously followed by The Best Man Holiday... This is officially one of my favorite movies... Terrence Howard is the comedian in this movie... And of cause Lance (Morris Chestnut ) any wife's dream ... The cast did very well, no complains ... LOVE IT to the max!!! A very well done...
