Must See Movie...

A Disappointing Continuation

I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.

The acting in this movie is really good.

The Directing, Acting, BGM, everything is top notch in this movie. It's constantly engaging. Masterclass. But for one thing, I couldn't really get myself into the movie. It's the mother. I'm interested in psychology and I studied about the Oedipus complex. This mother is too possessive of her child that she spoiled him and turned him into an idiot. She takes too much care of him. So much that she does everything for him. He is trying to come out of her clutches, but finds the comfort zone too tough to leave. Definitely his mistake too. But as I watched the movie, I grew more and more angry with the mother. She never for once taught him how to live. He is trying to protect him in each and every part of his life. That only leads to a stunted development of the son. Mothers like this look like angels, but they are the curse for men.

You are not going to find too many protagonist, antagonist, plot, scene mentions on these reviews. 2. My approach is usually "mile wide, inch deep". That being said (very rarely) it might be the other way around "inch wide, mile deep", where I pick on a specific aspect and rave/ rant about the same. If you are looking for an in-depth, comprehensive review, I doubt I could satisfy that vein. 4. My perspective is that of an individual who views the world through limited knowledge of cinema and reading. I am not an extensive traveller, I do not feel the need to be a part of an era or to engage with a specific culture/ sub culture to review it. I take my time to write what I think appears meaningful to me during the course of the movie.5. Inevitably, there will be aspects that I will refer to in the movie that I cannot negate: scenes, specific aspects of plots or personalities. My reviews will always carry a SPOILER ALERT warning. You have been warned!6. I tend to compare different movies that I think are either in the same genre or , in some way, aesthetically connected to the movie I review. You will also have my reasons for why I think this would be an apt comparison. You may not necessarily agree with my reasons for the same, feel free to stop reading at any time.

The plot is very simple and not original. Lead actress does a good job but the movie is all about that and a few eye pleasing scenes. Rest is boredom with longer than necessary scenes. Nothing is developed and minor things float around all through the movie.Despite building any tension or helping the movie at all some scenes are much longer than necessary. Many parts are fruitless with story being never close to neither reality nor absurd.The pace never increases and the ending doesn't do enough to save it.
