Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.

One of the most extraordinary films you will see this year. Take that as you want.

Seen this movie on the guide menu on HBO so going in I thought it was an actual movie. Wow I thought, I missed an omen sequel. How did this happen? After watching this movie for 40 minuets I changed to, "wow...they released this in the theater?!" Then I went to imdb and seen it was a TV movie. That explains the really poor production value. Watching it I thought to myself that this resembled a poor TV movie. But that wasn't the only problem. The acting was bad. The young girl wasn't the greatest. She tried her best and I hate to be mean but I actually thought the younger girl did a better job. But in the end since it's a TV movie lower expectations must be allowed. Two stars. The mother, though not a very good actor, was cute. One has to look for something in this dribble.

Sure, the hidden secret of the story was far-fetched, but little Asia Viera as Delia was magnificent. Such expressive, spiteful eyes. She didn't say anything as she wreaked havoc on detractors. Her venom was justly spent on some wretched characters. I felt sorry for her - she didn't ask to be born that way. Unlike Damien (Omen II and III) she didn't attract a following of flatterers who choose to side with evil. A little coven of "Delians" would have been tasty. There is a strange attraction to evil that few films successfully exploit. When Delia came to enjoy her powers, the film missed out on fully illuminating them. I'd like to see a grown-up Delia taking care of her little brother the Antichrist. Maybe some juicy sibling rivalry...

I'm used to being in an IMDb reviewer minority, but found this to be quite a good thriller. It was adequately acted. Indeed, Asia Vieira as the evil little girl, Lee Grant as the mother and Michael Learner as the private detective were excellent. Things moved along nicely, with only a few slow spots. For a low-budget movie, the special effects were fine.I would have enjoyed more gore, but I'm a nasty old thing. Granted that, as a sequel, Omen IV is inconsistent with Omen III: once Christ returns there will be no Son of Antichrist. And the attempt to combine the Bible with New Age spirituality was even less plausible than 2012 Doomsday's attempt to combine it with the Mayan calendar cycle. Still, offhand I can't think of a good horror movie that lacks doctrinal flaws. As always, the final question is, Would I watch Omen IV again? Certainly, though I've got enough of a backlog of interesting-looking unwatched DVDs that doing so won't be for a while. And also enough of a backlog of other DVDs that seem interesting in the sense of the old Chinese curse, "May you live in interesting times." Perhaps reviews of these later

I had seen the first three OMEN movies before, but I put off seeing the fourth entry for years because I heard how bad it was. When I got a chance to watch it for a buck, I decided to give it a look. I definitely overpaid to see this movie. It goes wrong right from the beginning, which ignores what happened in the final few seconds of the third OMEN movie. It quickly settles into being basically a rehash of the first movie, though with a sprinkle of ROSEMARY'S BABY added into the stew. There is plenty of awkward dialogue, things happening that NO ONE thinks about or discusses with others, and it travels at such an unbelievably quick pace that you won't have a chance to catch your breath. But even if the story had been more original, it probably would have still sinked because this was a made-for-TV movie. It looks pretty cheap and threadbare at times, with murky photography and depressing location shooting in Canada during the winter. (Actually, although the story spans several years, it's ALWAYS winter in every scene.) And because this was made for TV, the horror and bloodletting never goes beyond a PG level.Even if you happen to be a big fan of the first three movies, you would be better off avoiding this clumsy recycling.
