This movie was so-so. It had it's moments, but wasn't the greatest.

This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.

The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.

This was a decent film, not the greatest but watchable. There have been many versions of Sirens but the original Greek mythology depicted them as half woman half bird. What I liked about this film was how they created the Siren. I found myself more interested in the Siren and the backstory of the man who held her captive and the whole beginning scene of when he found her. None of that made sense and it wasn't addressed. So, lots of holes and lack of explanation but otherwise, it's good for something different to watch when bored.

"SiREN" is the latest venture into the bachelor-party-gone-wrong vein of horror. Two brothers and two other guys (all friends) venture out into the night for a little debauchery since it is one brother's last night of freedom, so to speak. They are guided to a rather opulent home--in the middle of nowhere--where there every wish is promised to be granted. However, they should know better to open Pandora's box (in a manner of speaking). The movie overall was not that bad. The acting was better than expected, the colors used while filming the guys trips on mushrooms was very interesting, and there were some very different camera angles used. That's the good. Now here's the bad. If you are going to make a movie about creatures from Greek mythology, I suggest you at least do a little reading before you start filming. Sirens were mythical creatures whose songs were so beautiful they were able to lure sailors and their ships onto the rocks causing imminent death. Some researchers say they had the bodies of birds with the head of a women or vice-versa. They did NOT have demon tails. I also found out they were cannibals, something I did not know! The movie really never knew where to go. It started out muddled and it ended muddled. I don't know if the producers of the film had a knock-down, drag-out fight with the censors but it appeared to me the siren's nude body was (at times) blurred out of vision. I don't know what that was all about, but it was very distracting. Also, no explanation was given as to the attraction of the girl to that one particular man.Rated R for horror violence and nudity, The SiREN's song here is a little off-key.

I really liked it. Loved all 3 VHS movies and fondly remember "Amateur Night". I was so intrigued by that and I'm glad Hannah Fierman got to do this movie and we got to see 'all that she was' in action. When they pulled the Medusa thing, I thought it was a stretch but I couldn't get over how cool it was so I ended up liking it - just didn't know they were gonna get that crazy on me. Great attention was paid to sound and atmosphere. I think Hannah did a great job and so did the rest of the actors. I enjoyed this movie a hell of a lot more than I enjoyed The Lazarus Effect (2015). I think it deserves more than a 6/10 on IMDb. **I found this to be a solid movie with an intriguing story and a satisfying ending. ***8/10*** in my book. The VHS movies seem to exist in an alternate reality where many of our nightmares exist. I think that VHS and Bloody Disgusting should expand on all their shorts and show us more of this hellish world. Granted, not all the shorts were gold, as I think there were various directors involved for each but there were some gems in there like "Amateur Night", "Tuesday the 17th" LOVED that one,"A Ride in the Park" Zombie movie VHS style.. yes please. "Safe Haven" stuck with me. Im not sure how "Vicious Circles" struck others but I like it enough to want a bigger and better job done on it like they did with "Amateur Night"s The Siren. Might be something with "Dante the Great", but the actors were kinda sub par, good idea, meh execution. "Bone Storm" wasn't 'spot on' but it was classic VHS stuff. Cant get enough of the good FF films like As Above So Below, VHS, The Bay, Afflicted, Grave Encounters, The Tunnel etc.Bloody Disgusting films are tricky.. it's like they want you to take them seriously.. but not toooo seriously. It's a hard balance to strike with things suddenly getting very real but, are at the same time, being very unreal. I'd love to see more from Bloody Disgusting and the like.

First of all I'd say it's a B movie, so nothing blockbuster about it. I also don't think the title matches the 'creature' of the movie at all so it's misleading, well kind of.Overall, the acting was average and with the bland background people made the movie seemed lifeless without the element of thriller or a horror. I mean there's no sense of danger of a creature lurking/ hunting it's victims nor is there gore or blood to make it a 'horror' and I'm not a blood person myself but I expected more.Overall not a great movie, the plot seemed lacking, the acting was average for a B movie. I would not recommend this and as I said, the movie trailer was much better.
