It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional

At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.

This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

I stumbled across this little known Demi Moore and Michael Caine movie on TV last night, and on the strength of the lead actors, I decided to give it a go. A young reporter Natalie Dormer (from TV's Game Of Thrones) meets an old woman (Demi Moore complete with old age make up) Laura Quinn, to get her story about ........... Moore tells the story of being the lone female executive at London Diamond Corporation. In London in 1960. She is frustrated as her less-experienced male co-workers are promoted ahead of her. She is intrigued, when the mild-mannered night janitor, Mr. Hobbs (Michael Caine) approaches her with a daring but simple plan to steal a handful of diamonds from the vault.Joss Auckland has a supporting role and is as reliable as ever. It is funny, pet hates bother me even when I see it in movies. As I was getting annoyed when Michael Caine was talking away to Moore in a cinema during the movie. But it's hard to be too critical of a movie that gets so much right. It's a good movie, that had a decent amount of tension, The score is a valuable asset to the movie going from quirky to dramatic. Demi Moore remains one of the most talented and beautiful women in movies, and her ladylike sexiness is in rare supply. Any movie becomes better by having her name in it's cast.Given the talent involved, I'm surprised this failed to find an audience as it is more than an above average heist movie.

Its my opinion, any objections are warmly accepted.( No spoilers)The story starts when a young journalist meets a successful old aged woman to learn about her success story. The old lady was the managing director of the World's leading supplier of diamonds. she shows the journalist a diamond pf very high carat, and claims she stole it and goes forth to tell the story, which takes place in 1960.The lead character Laura is a manager of London diamonds who is workaholic in pursuit to gain a promotion, but there is no history a lady has achieved that post. Michael Cane portrays Mr.Hobbs the janitor of the company. Things get interesting when Laura gets an invitation to a movie which she assumes to be a blind date.A loose plot, the writer wanted to plot a brilliant robbery, but with all the modern security systems, he failed to see through them. Makes an excuse and goes back to 60's when security systems are weak and makes the robbery plot. But have to credit the idea, since only man who can see through his own time can make a robbery like that. Then again the writer is ahead of the story's time.

I think that if flawless described one thing in the film, it was Michael Cain's portrayal of the role he played as the clever old janitor with a mission. Demi Moore also immersed herself well into the role of the troubled and betrayed executive, but her acting was let down slightly by the on- off English accent she was supposed to have - at times her speech was a bit slurred. It may sound old fashioned, but maybe some actors should be taking lessons in diction. This is especially true if we have to listen hard to hear them above the often very intense and loud soundtrack that goes with the film. This is what we experienced in spades with Flawless - my hearing is quite good, but I really had to strain to hear and follow the dialogue in this film. The superb performances of all the actors in this film was spoilt terribly by the totally unnecessary loud and invasive soundtrack. I think that Michael Radford should remake this film without his very loud soundtrack - the good reviews would then come flooding in, I'm sure!

Michael Caine is an excellent actor, and proves it once again here. True, he's given a great script and some strong talent to work with. Not a big Demi Moore fan, but she did a great job portraying a woman in the 60's trying to break the 'glass ceiling' Stylish, without being flashy. Proves once again you can have an entertaining movie without huge explosions and tons of flesh. Of lot of themes are explored here - love, loneliness, greed, revenge, giving back. I enjoyed this, even though I'd seen it before and knew the ending. Caine and Moore make an unlikely, but great team. Highly recommended viewing if you like bank heist movies, caper flicks, witty dialog and of course, a few plot twists here and there.
