It is not deep, but it is fun to watch. It does have a bit more of an edge to it than other similar films.

It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

Unconditional Love became an instant but accidental love when it popped up on the T- Box. September 2012 and the T-Box is offering us a 2002 Kathy Bates movie we had somehow overlooked? With little else on offer, we tuned in with absolutely no expectations, a rare but desirable state of being. What we witnessed was a camp comedy that was as outrageous as it was romantic. Whilst it moved quickly, the characters were deep and you either loved them or loved to hate them. Bates and Everett, the leads, played their roles to perfection, with Bates' performance a gem. Don't pay any attention to people saying Bates looks out of place, they seem to have missed the moment. The movie delivers in spades, if you're not laughing you're crying or being shocked by its blackness, no minority is spared. An uplifting must watch comedy, though maybe too camp for some to appreciate.

This is my all time favorite movie. That is a scary proposition since I love movies. This is a movie I watch over and over because the story is still funny after 30 or more views. (How can you not love a dwarf in a red raincoat?) It is also a movie about setting out to accomplish something that you would have not thought possible. It's also about friendship. My best friend was dying of cancer and we sat in my den with her head cradled in my lap and watched it through twice before either of us thought of turning it off. I have to save it now, and only watch it occasionally. The great stage actor Jonathan Pryce as Victor Fox is sublime when he does Hitchcock Railway. I laugh every time I see it. How does he do that thing with his eyebrows? Check it out, you won't be sorry. Have to go..it is time to watch Unconditional Love.

This movie definitely hits the funny bone right on: make sure you have your popcorn and drink ready and are sitting comfortably before it begins, and be ready to be sad when you realise it's over... Kathy Bates as usual strikes all the top notes in her superlative role playing, and is fully matched by the rest of the cast let alone the excellent story and script they are playing out. Get ready to enjoy. The story is particularly poignant as it carries you across different cultures and social stratas both within US daily life, and also across the ocean in UK.. Along the way, it confronts plenty of stereo types from across society, picking holes and touching the pulse of where real people reside within their niches and clichés..

I absolutely adore this movie! I had never heard of it when I saw it at the video store. I saw Kathy Bates was in it, so I figured it had to have some worth, you know? I watched it the first time just shaking my head . . . huh? Then it was the last scene and I found myself aching from smiling so hard. I clicked "play movie" and watched the whole thing again. It is without doubt the quirkiest movie I've ever seen. But the more I watch it, the more I love it. It's absurd and crazy and sweet and dear. Kathy Bates is impeccable, but the rest of the cast is fabulous, too. What odd characters they all are! The midget is just too funny for words. And Julie Andrews and Barry Manilow are hysterical. It's just an all around funny, fabulous movie. I get cravings to see it again. Whoever is watching it for the first time, please stick it out to the end. It's well worth it!
