The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.

Agent Cody Banks is so silly it is clearly a kids movie. But, then again, there's enough cleavage and suggestive visual images that it is very near PG-13. As for the plot: Cody Banks (Frank Muniz) is a junior CIA agent employed to get close to Natalie Connors (Hilary Duff) so that the Agency can find out more about her father, Dr. Connors (Martin Donovan). The movie teeters on spoof territory. It is clearly modeled after the James Bonds/Mission Impossible ilk of films. Although small in stature, Cody Banks has the debonair wardrobe, cutting-edge gadgets, fighting skills and even a smokin' hot car. The bad guys have the cheesy Dr. Evil style lair, a big ugly henchman, plenty of disposable goons and a megalomaniacal scheme for world domination. The movie doesn't provide any real laughs though it is apparently a comedy. The action is too clunky to take seriously and I'm sure there were no Oscar nominated performances coming from this project. There were no redeeming qualities about this movie, yet I watched the entire thing. Yikes!

Skateboarding Seattle teenager Frankie Muniz (as Cody Banks) is really a secret CIA spy kid. As "Agent Cody Banks", he is assigned to date Hilary Duff (as Natalie Connors), to get close to her father. But, Mr. Muniz gets tongue-tied around girls. Ms. Duff's daddy, Martin Donovan (as Mr. Connors), is developing "Nanobots" (microscopic robots) for the rival ERIS organization. Duff is kidnapped; and, the fate of the entire free world hangs in the balance. Strictly preteen juvenile hi-jinks ensue. An arousing Angie Harmon (as Ronica Miles) is a tight to the Ts highlight.*** Agent Cody Banks (2003) Harald Zwart ~ Frankie Muniz, Hilary Duff, Angie Harmon

I don't if was the young leading star, or the thought of a young James Bon type character that made me want to see this film, but either way, I tried it, and it wasn't as cheesy as I thought it might be, from director Harald Zwart (One Night at McCool's). Basically Cody Banks (Malcolm in the Middle's Frankie Muniz) appears to many a normal teenager, but he hides a secret, (after signing on to numerous websites) he is a young teen program agent working for the CIA. He is now being given a real assignment, scientist Dr. Connors (Martin Donovan) has unknowingly created a chemical frozen in ice cubes, which when melted can destroy anything metal in seconds, and evil organisation ERIS wants them to destroy defence systems. Cody's assignment, given by Ronica Miles (Angie Harmon), is to befriend fellow new school classmate Natalie Connors (Hilary Duff) in order to get close to her dad, the scientist. Unfortunately Cody lied on his personal information, and it turns out he needs more than a few gadgets to help his mission, he is rubbish at talking to girls. Also starring Volcano's Keith David as CIA Director, The Mummy's Arnold Vosloo as Francois Molay, Ian McShane as Dr. Brinkman, Cynthia Stevenson as Mrs. Banks, Daniel Roebuck as Mr. Banks and Darrell Hammond as Earl. Muniz makes quite a good mini James Bond, the story and cheap laughs are actually quite good, and there is just enough excitement added by some stunt and action sequences. Worth watching!

I thought that this movie was awesome. The beginning and the middle parts are the best parts of the film. I like the skateboard chase, the idea of the Junior CIA, and when boy meets girl and makes a fool of himself(at first). There is great chemistry between Frankie Muniz and Hilary Duff. They are actors I normally don't like, but they are great in this film. The special effects are cool and the stunts are fairly good. The evil guy was playing his part of evil and so were his sidekicks. A lot of people including critics are ripping off this movie. Don't listen to the critics because the film is great, mark my words! I rate this movie 8/10.
