The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.

That is about all that matters for this. It was a very simple story where the ending was obvious but come on this is just a Christmas cartoon for kids. I would say it definitely is not as good as the original classic but that's what it was, a total classic, so no sequel could really live up to it. The kids loved it, it was entertaining enough for us adults (and not nearly as annoying as most of the other holiday cartoons we watched) and I think it is very underrated here.

Frosty has returned to indoctrinate your children. Deplorable propaganda that has an in-name-only Frosty the Snowman fighting a polluting businessman. Ugh. Just so much ugh. This has nothing to do with Christmas. Instead we have Winter Carnival. One of the kids says "Let's go outside and make a fertility goddess." What. The. Hell. Frosty's not even allowed to have a pipe, no doubt due to the drastic increase in pipe-smoking children after the original Frosty aired. The songs are absolutely terrible! I hope no one was paid for them. The animation is sloppy and unattractive. This is an agenda-driven cartoon made by screwed-up people who hate Christmas. Sadly, even after 22 years, CBS continues to air this monstrosity after the genuine classic 1969 cartoon.

This is not a Sequel to Frosty the Snowman it's barely a Christmas show There already is a sequel it's called Frosty's Winter Wonderland. I am not as angry with this special as some people are but it's problems The villain is not a villain at all he has made a great invention a spray that melts snow and ice.Frosty and holly the girl who brought him to life with a magic hat have to stop the spray that swept the town trucks go by spraying the stuff around like DDT trucks. There is no mention of Christmas or Holiday the only thing anyone talks about is the Winter Carnival for all i know this takes place in January or February there's one part were someone says it should only snow on the Winter Carnival what about snowing on Christmas.Holly's friend Charles has no imagination and can't believe frosty came to life by magic And frosty can live without his hat on his pipe is even gone. I believe that Christmas came from the winter solstice and i would not mind a winter solstice Christmas special but this is to PC it's not all bad but it's got many flaws. One thing i don't get is why frosty's winter wonderland from Rankin Bass air once or twice a year on ABCfamily and this airs every time Frosty does.

Had a double take on the release date of this one. The animation is so poor it seems like a cheap 70's cartoon. Goodman does what he can with what's given to him, but every line is some schmaltzy nonsense about love in your heart, making friends and so on. It ignores the premise of the magic hat, now Frosty can take it off whenever. We also have a villain that wants to melt snow with his environmentally unsafe spray. The whole dynamic between this villain and the town he wishes to bow before him is always kind of off. He seems like a Bond super villain that wants world domination, but he's also a bit of a fool. The songs are forgettable and with no mention of Christmas, it just doesn't have enough charm to capture the imagination. Just listen to the song or watch the original.
