It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

It's a feast for the eyes. But what really makes this dramedy work is the acting.

Tom and Jerry must save a girl from her evil aunt.Most people think the film's biggest weakness is allowing the main characters to talk. And I have to agree that this was probably a misstep. For the first 15 minutes or so, I was impressed that the creators decided to make a full-length film with two leads who never speak. And then they dropped that. At least they got Richard Kind.Tom and Jerry, although around for a long time, have never been the most beloved of cartoons, and this movie is not terribly beloved by just about anyone. If someone were to say that it has been forgotten, they would have a serious point... I have very little interest in ever seeing it again.

Now how can you take one of the greatest cartoon teams of all time and almost ruin what makes them great?I know making them talk, these are two of the greatest silent film stars in history and you make them talk? Come on that is true injustice.While it may have try to target a new generation of fans for those of us who grew up watching the reruns on TV this is one of the biggest injustice ever done to a classic.The plot for the film is just ugh to say the least. The Animation in the film well some of it is good work but the rest is pretty much like watching a coloring book come to life.The music in the film is not even really convincing to sell the story.Even the story itself isn't all it crack up to be it just pretty much this film was made just to get some money and from what I learned it wasn't even a box office success.So pretty much stay away from this film if you love Tom and Jerry you will avoid this film.I give Tom and Jerry: The Movie a 2 out of 10

I liked this film as a child. I know, what was wrong with me!? Tom & Jerry speak and try to be friends? A story that's been heard several dozen times before? And money. Yes. I just cannot comprehend what I saw in this movie anymore. Except maybe the animation's nice and colourful, and the music's pretty dandy. But the latter would probably have been better off in some other movie. Anyway, the film does seem to focus more on Robyn's story, and that's not a good thing - if Robyn was the main focus, why bring the great cat and mouse duo into it? No, something like Tom & Jerry does not translate well into a 90-minute feature... as this attempt at it shows.

Words alone cannot express my reaction to this film when I saw it, so to have an appropriate image of it, watch the Nostalgia Critic's response to the landmark of this film's *epic* failure: Tom and Jerry effing TALK (and sing about how they hate chasing each other and are actually friends)!!!!!! They went and turned a cartoon sensation into a cinema abomination. There we are, no more to it. That's the short version of what I think of this. Poor Tom and Jerry. It's as if the movie murdered them.Oh, and recite the analysis of the climactic chase scene...*without* going completely insane!
