This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.

The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;

This is a film that showed early promise, was a great idea, but the actors, dialogue, and plot couldn't bring it on. The film starts out as a reality film as they watch and interview a cheerleader. When she is killed while performing "America's most dangerous sport" her friend Maddy (Caitlin Stasey) takes her spot with the intent of enacting revenge especially on football player Terry (Tom Williamson). Added to this mix is witch Leena (Sianoa Smit-McPhee) who makes things happen with stones and crystals that act like a Monkey's Paw.The film takes 30 minutes to develop. It was good getting there. Once we entered into the meat of the film, the writers didn't know what to do. Or at least they didn't do it well. Character build up was mostly ineffective.Asylum production. Totally loved this movie since it gave me the same chills and thrills from the said TV series with some sex scenes in it too. Damn those cheerleader outfits were hot! The fact that they died turns them all into whores. Uh huh, OK, its not really that relevant to the plot but its still very pleasing to watch. The start was a little boring, I didn't watch it as I didn't think it'd affect my enjoyment of the main part of the movie if I didn't pay any attention to it and I was right. A witch uses stones to turn some cheerleader into her own coven. That's all you need to know basically. I loved Buffy the Vampire slayer as a child, and this movie particularly reminded me of the evil Willow episodes but with a little more spice.

This is a poor remake with poor production values. It almost looks amateurish.Some High School cheerleaders get attacked one night by the High School Jocks and end up driving into the river.Lucky for them a girl at the High School and also a friendly, neighbourhood witch revives them and they have unusual powers such as a lust for blood. Not sure how these girls have got a vampire type blood-lust.The girls ineptly plan revenge on the boys who attacked them but the alpha male, who is the most sadistic and vile figures out that these cheerleaders have special powers and he is hell bent on acquiring them.The film has a great deal of uneven tone. A typical High School comedy about the beautiful people, bitchiness to bullying and the worse kind of cruel, male bullying. It varies wildly unsure whether it wants to be a black horror comedy, campy silliness to supernatural, or just plain cruel.

I was expecting the usual, nerdy girl gets wounded then gets revenge on the popular girls. I personally don't care for chick flicks, this is one that blurs the lines between romance, horror and the occasional comedy. It's gory as hell, the special effects suck and only four of the female actors can act, but it's amazing. Not for people who didn't like evil dead or only watch a movie to see two girls getting it on. It's extremely rare to find a movie that actually creates a relationship between women and it's f**ked up in this one but still entertaining. If you were expecting a cheer movie, a horror movie or a chick flick, it isn't for you. It isn't the pinnacle of film but it's fun and bloody and has female characters that are gorgeous and psycho. Some of the actors actually surprised me, and the directing did, don't take it seriously and it's pretty enjoyable. The 'Leprechaun' franchise, spin off Jaws and any rom com with Adam Sandler could use a whole lot of tips from this movie.
