Interview with a Hit-man is a low budget British thriller with more than a nod to the Hit-man video game and subsequent film as well as THE BOURNE SUPREMACY. It stars straight-to-DVD star Luke Goss playing a former Romanian child who grew up to become a star hit-man and who arrives in UK ready to carry out his latest assignment. Things become complicated when he falls for his target.I'm not sure why there are a wealth of positive reviews on this site because this is a very ordinary and uninteresting story. It's so low budget that there's hardly any action and those action bits that do occur are unconvincing. The story is full of dialogue which is softly-spoken and attempts to build character but it comes across as dull and just as uninteresting as the forays into action. Everything seems long-winded and unfocused and a reliably charming Goss can do nothing to carry the picture. It seems they gave up on this one before they even started.

Viktor is a killer; a paid murderer working for a Russian crime family known as the Sergeys. I personally loved watching the film even though crime fiction has never been my kind of movie before. However the storytelling was so good and the action was so brilliant to the point that I am tempted to watch the movie again.I only didn't like that Viktor seems to be such a sad person growing up with a father who owed money to a local mobster. This changes his life drastically and he becomes a cold brutal man. However despite how evil he is, it appears that he kills for money almost as if he doesn't have a choice.

The movie Interview with a Hit-man does many things well in terms of crime fiction. First of all it combines the idea that a killer is not just an instrument of death but a person with some natural human feeling hidden deep beneath the layers of hatred and evil. Viktor the young paid killer in the story becomes cold and cruel as a result of his circumstances rather than by choice. This doesn't dismiss the fact that he is still a killer, but it does make the audience sort of sympathize with him more. This is especially true when he decides to start changing in the second half of his life.

The best part about the film is the realism with which the actor plays Victor the assassin. Most other Hit-man movies that I have watched were excellent in terms of how they emphasized on how dangerous paid killers are as well as brutal. However what most films don't do is show that even a mass murderer has a deep sensitive side no matter how cold. And it also shows how some kids who become hit men in the future begin killing from an early age. Watch the movie Interview with a Hit-man to find out how an ordinary youth turns into the youngest paid killer working for the Sergey Crime family.
