The joyful confection is coated in a sparkly gloss, bright enough to gleam from the darkest, most cynical corners.

Love, science, sex, infidelity, disease and comedy, the wild, mostly true story of the irrepressible Annie Parker and the almost discovery of a cure for cancer. Decoding Annie Parker is a great example of how you can make a film about such a terrible disease and yet make it so powerful and moving at the same time because when drama hits it hits you hard but my only 2 complains about the film were that the comedy was a bit too much at times but then again they didn't want the movie to be dark, unfunny and moody so i guess that kinda makes sense and 2nd after a while we never see her son again for some reason and that was odd. Now as far as performances go i think everyone were good Aaron Paul, Helent Hunt, Maggie Grace and more but the stand out performance and the one who stole the show was Samantha Morton she was amazing and i'm gonna give this film a 9/10.

I watched a beautiful, touching, and powerful real life story of a film about trying to find a cure for breast cancer and map the BRCA-1 gene in the '70s called Decoding Annie Parker, whose mother and father, and sister succumbed to cancer at a time when computers were too slow to compile any real data.A brilliantly touching movie, I highly recommend. As a child growing up in the '70s, I found the movie remarkably visceral and stirring. My life was a comedy. I just had to learn to laugh. ~Annie, Decoding Annie ParkerI highly recommend this movie, we are going through a pandemic of cancer in our history, and we must find the cause, whether it's our industrialization, genetic disposition, a combination of a great many things, I feel someday we'll have eradicated cancer, looking back at all those who suffered and died, may all beings be free of suffering.

I just saw this movie tonight in Indianapolis with a sellout crowd through gathr.us. I hope it will be released to more theaters so more people can enjoy it. Many audience members tonight were touched somehow by the BRCA gene or hereditary breast and ovarian cancer, and we were anxious to see this movie and share it with friends and family. The writing, directing and acting is superb, and it is never corny or overly melodramatic despite the cancer theme. The funeral scenes really hit home for me. It was also a story of hope, and of never giving up. Dr King and her team are my heroes, as are patients like Annie Parker, and many of us may be alive today because of them. Discovery of the BRCA gene mutation is one of the most important advances in science, and this brings it to the public in a way that can be understood. I loved ALL the actors, the music, the scenery, and the shifting of the two parallel stories, one of the search for the genetic link to cancer and the other a patients personal belief (in spite of what her doctors tell her ) that something runs in her family. Bravo to everyone involved in the making of this movie!

This is an extremely powerful movie filled with compassion and humor. The movie provide deep insight into the emotions of those battling cancer balanced with an element of humor to keep the movie lighter along the movie's journey. Decoding Annie Parker will appeal to a broad audience; I strongly recommend the movie to anyone whether battling cancer or those not exposed to this disease.I was privileged to attend the viewing in Buffalo, NY. What an honor it was to have Annie Parker, her husband, and Steven Bernstein on hand to share their personal stories in making the movie. Our panel of cancer experts from Roswell Park confirmed the validity of the research presented. The cast is strong with an especially inspiring performance by Helen Hunt. Two thumbs up.
