When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.

The story-telling is good with flashbacks. The film is both funny and heartbreaking. You smile in a scene and get a soulcrushing revelation in the next.

I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.

A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.

I really don't know why this is generally perceived as the worst Carry On. It's really not as bad as all that! Carry On England is surely the worst, closely followed by Cowboy..... Both these are almost unwatchable, but this definitely has its moments. Kenneth Williams and Joan Sims are as good as they can be, given the weird script, there's some good lines in there too. Like "Carry On Screaming", this film parodies a genre popular at the time - in this case, European art-house pornography - but this is nowhere near as effective as Screaming, despite some interesting set-pieces and clever filming. It gets caught between two stools, it's trying to be a parody and a pastiche at the same time, and ends up being at a median point with few of the good qualities of either. The story is frankly bizarre and the film frequently becomes disconnected, dull and messy. Yet, despite its numerous failings, there is a good film in there struggling to get out. There are even moments where it's so well done that it could quite easily have been a clip from a real 70s art-house classic! Sadly, it's never maintained for long, and it is so unlike any other Carry On film that fans of the genre are bound to be disappointed.

Granted its obvious defects, this porn parody is a far funnier Carry On than many give it credit for.The Carry On regulars are all in fine form, with Jack Douglas having his finest hour in the series as suave, randy 'Loins' the butler and there's a treasurable farewell performance from dear old Peter Butterworth, which is vintage Carry On. Kenneth Connor is brilliant, as usual, as lecherous chauffeur Leyland, Joan Sims returns to form as the Dickensian sounding Mrs Dangle and Kenneth Williams is as funny as ever as Prevert. Suzanne Danielle is quite superb as Emmannuelle and her sexy, knowing performance is all the more remarkable considering her limited acting experience at the time.If you can put aside any preconceptions and accept it as a bawdy romp of Britain in the post-pill pre-AIDS era when PC stood only for police constable, Emmannuelle provides plenty of laughs.

Like another reviewer said, the song "Love Crazy" at the beginning is a great song and the best thing about this filthy film. Most of the other Carry on films are naughty fun, but not filthy. This film starts out with Emmanuelle going down on a guy in the bathroom and then we see Kenneth Williams bare butt in his room. Ugh! Another minus for me is the fake french accents they both use. Man, they are awful. Joan Sims and Kenneth Connor & Peter Butterworth play the help at Kenneth Williams home. Jack Douglas plays the butler. Kenneth is an ambassador and Emmanuelle is his mistress/wife. We see more of Kenneth's butt again, ewww! She basically goes around flaunting her body and sleeping with everyone. She then asks the hired help to describe their wildest affairs. This is more waste of film. I read Barbara Windsor walked out on this film because it was too risqué. She was right. It's also not that funny. Emmanuelle continues to sleep with every guy she sees, exposing her butt a couple of times. Her body is OK, but the french accent is annoying. She is upset her husband does not care about her exploits, so she bangs the whole soccer team, one at a time. An ex-lover decides to write an article about her affairs and she admits it's all true. She and Kenneth do it at the end and she gets pregnant and has a bunch if kids. That's it. I give it a 3 and that's partially for the great theme song. This is the worst of the Carry On films. Yes it's worse than Carry on Columbus because at least that film had Jim Dale and the sexy Sara Crowe.

This dreadful and last instalment to the Carry On series sums up the British Film Industry at the end of the 1970s - at the end of the road.Made on what looks like £30, a borrowed camera and free film won in a raffle, Carry On Emmanuelle fails for two simple reasons. No script and no laughs. The cast, what is remaining of them, are willing, but this movie offers nothing except to try to fill its duration on the screen. No jokes, no proper scenes and the main lead Suzanne Danielle is a terrible actress with her French accent slipping continuously. She's not even that pretty, plus she is not even remotely funny.I only saw this movie in 2007, 29 years after its release. To my knowledge it's never been on British TV. I am not surprised. It's awful. I would still try to watch it if you're curious, but surely only out of curiosity.
