At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.

This is a gorgeous movie made by a gorgeous spirit.

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

If you're a Benson/Moorhead fan, its best to watch this film first. I watched the duo's latest film 'The Endless' before this film, but the two interlink (although The Endless is not a sequel). They share the same universe, and the characters from 'The Endless' interact with characters from 'Resolution'. It might sound confusing, but I assure you it is not. I did, however, feel 'The Endless' was a huge improvement on this film, and see it more as a remake with a lot more detail, and a much clearer view of what is actually going on. 'Resolution' is much less detailed but and leaves a lot to your imagination, but be warned, this film also has some very freaky moments!

It is beyond this movie buff's understanding, as of why are the movies of Benson and Moorhead considered horrors, or thrillers. They're at best arthouse experiments. No matter how many times one watches Resolution, forward or backwards, it makes little sense. To give it a 9 or 10 is just nasty. It defiles everything IMDB is all about. Of course, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but Resolution is no masterpiece, not a horror and by far not the best thing you ever saw.I had made a terrible mistake the other day and watched The Endless (forgot these blokes made Resolution). Must be more vigilant next time. Blacklisted.

i decided to check out this movie after i watched writer/director-duo Justin Benson's and Aaron Moorhead's Spring its strong points are the acting, especially by Vinny Curran, who's been featured in all three of Benson's and Moorhead's feature films to date and not much else. his character's mental illness and meth-addiction-and-induced psychosis are convincing enough that i have to wonder if he and/or Benson have experienced it firsthand. the dialogue and relationship between the two leads seem very natural and are the primary driving force of the film i found the story a bit difficult to follow towards the end, though, particularly with regard to the rationale behind the sober lead's decision-making and conclusions he draws from the occurring phenomenon, which itself is an interesting and unique premise. the shaky hand-held-camera style is a minor annoyance all in all, i like the film; i'd watch it again, but i like Spring better. i wouldn't recommend this for everyone, and it could be triggering for recovering addicts, so take care

I think anyone reading these reviews that hasn't seen this yet should just watch it.It's different, it's strange, and the ending is... bizarre?it's so different from other movies that it's worth watching, a budget film that has an original idea, you'll question whats going on while you watch but the end is a proper 'what the...?!!' moment that doesn't seem to make sense, and so you try to make sense of it, and think about it for a long time...It's not action packed, but it'c clever enough to keep you going along with it, and i think it really underrated looking at the reviews,
