It's no definitive masterpiece but it's damn close.

It's complicated... I really like the directing, acting and writing but, there are issues with the way it's shot that I just can't deny. As much as I love the storytelling and the fantastic performance but, there are also certain scenes that didn't need to exist.

It is not deep, but it is fun to watch. It does have a bit more of an edge to it than other similar films.

Toby Keith's first attempt at a film career other than making music videos and truck commercials isn't Oscar material. With that being said, I would recommend seeing "Broken Bridges" or purchasing the DVD. "Broken Bridges" is a family story of redemption, love, and hope...a modern day morality play set in the South. The entire cast is believable...even Toby. No he isn't playing himself though both the main male character and Toby are singer/songwriters. Even non-country music fans will enjoy this movie. My biggest disappointment was the editing of "Broken Bridges" as the film was choppy. It appears that the film was edited as if "BB" was a film made directly for television and commercials and not a movie with national release with full PR support of the movie studio.Buy the "Broken Bridges" DVD and you won't be disappointed.

A true to life story that some can sympathyze with and others may learn from. With friends, family, and family of friends presently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces I believe we can relate to one of the messages this film inspires. This film centered on a group of people, their values, their ability to admit and to learn from their mistakes, and their ability to find worth and meaning in them...I personally liked it when Toby's character said something like he's made mistakes...but his daughter wasn't one of them. I also like how he "lost a brother, but gained his daughter". If I were to say only one word about this film it would have to be "realism". In my opinion the actors were very realistic and the storyline kept to social conditions as if they really did exist, as if it were all true fact. The music tied in very realistically also...this film was not a musical...instead it was just like down home :) It was from both sides of the track...young and older adults will be able to relate as well as teenagers...in another aspect from both sides of the track...they didn't have much and gained plenty.

This is a great family film. Anyone should be proud to add this to their personal DVD library. It is one of those rare films that leaves you wanting to see more at the end, sorry that it's over and wanting to know more about the lives of the interesting characters. The story line is extremely moving and tugs at the heart strings. What a fabulous find - as there is much garbage out there. What great fun it is to share works of art such as this. I crave more films like this one and constantly search them out. Kudos to the creators! Thank you to the cast.FYI - check out Toby Keith's I Love That Bar and Grill restaurant/bar in Bricktown/Oklahoma City. It's a fun place with great atmosphere, serving up terrific food & entertainment.

My family went to the early release on 9/7 at a local Knoxville, TN, theater. I loved the movie and so did my family. We thought Toby and the rest of the cast did a great job. This movie contained an important message that would be beneficial to anyone who has ever made a bad decision which led one down a destructive path in their life. It also shows the importance of mending relationships with your family and friends while you still can. So many times, people believe that they can't change and that no matter what, your loved ones won't forgive your mistakes. This movie shows that you can go back and make amends. People can change. Sometimes it takes a tragedy, which is horrible, but often necessary. I was thoroughly disappointed that there didn't seem to be any print advertisement of the movie. I'm sure that there was a limited amount of money for advertising; but, there was nothing in my newspaper at all. If I did not belong to Toby's fan club, I would not have known that the movie was being released. This movie deserved more advertisement than it received. Great job Toby, from a loyal fan.
